- Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- No edit warring or sock puppetry.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Deliberately adding such content or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Do not use talk pages as discussion or forum pages as Wikipedia is not a forum.
The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Mary Lefkowitz
[edit]Hi and welcome, but there were a number of problems with your edits. 'Afro-centrism' is the normal term, and the one Lefkowitz uses. We never, ever, change quotations, and that means we never add bold or italics, underlining, etc. References should be inline, they get automatically added to the reference list. Look at the article in edit mode. Far too many quotes from one source - creating both a copyright problem and a problem with WP:NPOV. Pick a sentence or two and use them. Remember that this is an article about her, not about Afro-centrism, a term invented by Asante I believe which further makes me wonder why you don't like his term. Finally, if you are going to use Asante, you need to use her comments on him also.

- Copying from my talk page where you called me a white racist.:
- "I apologise for getting it wrong about Asante inventing the term - I wasn't certain, which is why I said "I think". In any case, it's clear that you think that you know the Truth and that anyone who disagrees with you is wrong, and evidently also a racist. I don't know if you ever put your life at risk as I did decades ago in the deep American south, marching with King, having someone try to run me down, but calling me a racist simply because I was wrong about Asante and afro-centricity is a joke. You say " I'm sure no one will EVER know the REAL and FACTUAL name of the movement Asante started from Wikipedia"? Look at article on him at Molefi Kete Asante which says "Asante is known for his writings on Afrocentricity, a school of thought that has influenced the fields of sociology, intercultural communication, critical theory, political science, African history, and social work." You know, I was trying to help you. Didn't work. Doug Weller (talk) 18:07, 1 September 2015 (UTC)"
