Hmmm. You'll need to tell me about pain/itch etc. Is it getting bigger. How long has it been there? Jfdwolff 09:27, 13 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The first I noticed it was probably about 3 years ago. I don't really know if it's getting bigger. It's patchy like that basically from the knee down on both legs. The most noticible patches are behind my ankles like that, and on the tops of my feet near the toes. (I've uploaded another image to demonstrate -- see User:TShilo12/My foot.) It doesn't itch or anything at all--I don't feel anything amiss. I know, however, that I just suddenly noticed it about 3 years ago, and that it wasn't there at all 4 years ago. So the skin is discolored. Are the patches lighter or darker than the remainder of the skin? If the patches are lighter than the rest the likely cause is vitiligo. If they are darker I would not be so sure what it could be. Does pressing on the areas cause local redness & warmth? JFW | T@lk 13:15, 17 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's darker than the rest, actually, or I'd have settled on vitiligo long ago. It's, bizarrely enough, like reverse vitiligo...like increased melanin or something. The only visible effect of pressing on it is to make it go slightly less brown briefly. Tomertalk 17:32, 17 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm. Medical diagnosis accross a continent is quite hard. Unfortunately we don't have a wiki dermatologist in residence. Perhaps asking WP:CLINMED may help. JFW | T@lk 17:47, 17 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
