Hello -

I have made several factual corrections to the page about myself and the article now has a box reading,

"A major contributor to this article appears to have a close connection with its subject. It may require cleanup to comply with Wikipedia's content policies, particularly neutral point of view. Please discuss further on the talk page. (August 2018) (Learn how and when to remove this template message)"

Can someone other than me please review the edits I made and remove this box from the page?

Some of the changes you made may have been "factual corrections", as you say, but in view of the fact that you also added laudatory content about yourself I don't think removing the conflict of interest tag would be appropriate until someone spends the time needed to clean the article up. • My apologies for marking your help request as closed when I posted my message above. That was a mistake, and I should have left it open so that other editors might see it and help. I am restoring it now. I am also removing duplications of messages. If you believe there are good reasons for repeating them then please feel free to restore them, but on the whole having the same messages twice on different parts of the page is just likely to confuse people.
• If nobody else does so first I will try to check the article and help you with it when I get time, but unfortunately that is probably not going to be before Tuesday. • I have now had time for a more thorough look at the article. "Laudatory" was the wrong word to use above, but adding content about yourself which refers to such things as awards you have received is not neutral editing. The slight suggestion of promotionality involved in the editing by this account is, I think, not enough in itself to justify the statement that "a major contributor" to the article appears to have a close connection with its subject. There does seem to me to have been a gradual creep over the course of years towards a less neutral presentation, whether because of editing by one or more people involved with you or for other reasons, but the extent of it is small compared to what has happened in many other articles. I have decided that, although there are some concerns, there is not enough of a problem to justify the conflict of interest tag, so I shall remove it. However, you should be aware that Wikipedia's conflict of interest guideline discourages you from writing the article about yourself, and that you should instead propose changes, using the requested edit template as you have done here, but preferably on the article's talk page, Talk:Tina Landau. The main reason for that is that experience over the years indicates that editors with a close connection to a subject they are writing about are likely to find it very difficult, or even impossible, to stand back from their writing and see how it will look from the detached perspective of an outsider, so that they are likely to write in ways that look promotional to others, even if they sincerely think they are writing in a neutral way. Fuller details are available in the conflict of interest guideline. In my opinion that guideline, like most Wikipedia guidelines and policies, is far too long and complex, making it confusing and unhelpful to new editors, and much of it is in any case irrelevant to you, but the main points are as follows. (1) You should request edits rather than editing the article directly. (2) You should make your involvement clear whenever discussing edits to the article.
