"Article evaluation" on medical errors, sources were found to be outdated and reliability was questionable due to being based on one facilities results from a questionnaire.TLund (talk) 21:17, 4 September 2017 (UTC) Hello! I added some commas to your article and updated the spelling of bar code. I like all the ideas ou guys have going, and cannot wait to read the final result. - Overall I think that your article has a great start and that it is going in a good direction. I see that you have stated where you need to add in citations. I would like to see how the BCMA actually helps to control medication errors. If it is allowed to be overridden is there a protocol for what happens next? Are there penalties if a nurse is overriding it to give an incorrect medication? Just some thoughts on what you could touch on. Ll128576 (talk) 23:26, 13 October 2017 (UTC)
- I would have to agree with the statement above. I believe that this article is headed in the right direction. The one thing that stood out to me was that there weren't any headings to the different sections of the article. If headings were added the reader would have a better idea about what they were reading about next. Headings would also assist with navigation of the article for readers who would like to refer back to the article at a later time. I did notice a one grammatical error in the article as well. In the sentence "The nurse can then scan the barcode on medicine..." the word "the" should be added between "on" and "medicine". Other that the flow of the article works well and the content is very beneficial to anyone who does not know much about bar code administration. Akammin (talk) 23:48, 13 October 2017 (UTC)

[edit]I think you're doing a great job with the article. I've already learned a lot more about medication barcodes than I thought I would ever know. I do think that this article could benefit from some minor improvements such as general grammar. One example would be using "When a nurse gives medication" instead of "When a nurse gives medicines". I think it makes the flow of the paragraph sound better. I also think that this article could benefit from sectioning off the information instead of one big paragraph. "History" and "Regulations" could make good sections for the information. I think this is becoming a very great article! Alliacev (talk) 00:18, 14 October 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for the feedback! I think you're right that the article could sound more fluid by editing some of the sentences. Also, thanks for the suggestions for sections for this article. We'll be sure to keep it in mind. Shilpaus76 (talk) 22:43, 2 November 2017 (UTC)shilpaus76

[edit]I think you are off to a great start with your Bar Code Medication Administration draft. The first thing I noticed was the picture, showing an example of what the bar code looks like. I think this was a great idea to give people a general idea of the concept. I also liked how you included the five rights of medication administration, especially because it's such an important part for each nurse to remember.
As you stated the goals of BCMA, I think it might benefit the reader if you expand on them. Have they impacted medication administration positively? Have they found that their goals are being met by using bar codes? What was the medication administration techniques before the bar codes?
I think you have included lots of pertinent information regarding your topic. With just a little more revising and additional information I think you guys will have a solid Wiki page!

Thanks for all of the advice, Kelly! It's nice to have someone review the article and point out exactly what would make the page easier for a reader to understand. We have been researching the topics you mentioned, but thanks for the guiding questions! Shilpaus76 (talk) 22:46, 2 November 2017 (UTC)shilpaus76 11/2/17

[edit]I think you guys have a look of good information I would just makes sure references are added to support the information. The article might benefit from being sectioned off such as History and 5 Rights. Also, think might be a good idea to touch on potential complications related to the use of bar codes and scanners. Overall great start! ALAlmond7288 (talk) 01:44, 21 October 2017 (UTC) ALAlmond7288 (talk) 01:44, 21 October 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for all of the suggestions. So, I plan to use our pharmacology textbook as a resource for information about the rights of drug administration. I think you have a good point saying that sectioning off parts of the article would make it a better article. Thanks for the ideas about what to title the sections; we'll definitely keep them in mind. Shilpaus76 (talk) 22:49, 2 November 2017 (UTC)shilpaus76
