Another way to keep track of vandals

Actually, two points: 1) Vandalism from an IP address means the editor has not created a user page, and may, for example, be editing from a school or library with computers that many people can use. 2) Rather than a sub-page of your User page, I suggest either your own Sandbox or writing down the vandal addresses on a piece of paper. Combating vandalism is a good cause (there is even an automated program that takes care of a lot of it automatically), but editors are not supposed to post the addresses of vandals. It's actually a bit of bragging, to wit "Look what I did." David notMD (talk) 21:04, 28 November 2018 (UTC)

You make a good point, but schools and libraries can check who has been on a certain computer at a certain time, so they can find who did it, but most repeated vandals have IP addresses from work. Second of all, I'm guessing you're talking about ClueBot, which:
  • fixes only about under half of the edits (40% according to its page)
  • can make mistakes (it can't think like a human)
  • just warns users, nothing else

Third and final, I'm not bragging. If you bothered to read the page and my contest of the speedy deletion, you would know that the page's sole purpose is to keep track of vandals. TL The Legend (talk) 21:23, 28 November 2018 (UTC)
