Thanks for putting your Wikipedia entry online so that it can be reviewed and graded! Hoopes (talk) 03:50, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your entry is less than half the length that it is supposed to be (1000 words). Hoopes (talk) 01:12, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Every Wikipedia entry should start off with a basic description of its subject. You do not explain how the JGU is different from other jaguar deities. You don't explain the significance of the "underworld" association or what that represents. You don't explain how to recognize this deity in visual representations, nor do you discuss the beliefs associated with this being. Why is it significant? What does it represent?

You will find an extensive discussion of the Jaguar God of the Underworld in the book Star Gods of the Maya: Astronomy in Art, Folklore, and Calendars by Susan Milbrath.

One of the most important parts of this assignment was to insert hyperlinks to other relevant entries in order to make your entry more useful (and to avoid repeating information that is already in Wikipedia). You did not put in hyperlinks for jaguar, Maya religion, Maya caves, or other obvious topics.

You did not follow the correct form for including bibliographic references. Please look at other student entries to see how to correct this. Hoopes (talk) 01:41, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
