[edit]Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 12:35, 6 May 2023 (UTC)
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 13:35, 6 May 2023 (UTC)
This is your only warning; if you make personal attacks on others again, as you did at The Penguin (TV series), you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. I was going to let this slide as I was working toward communicating with you on this matter, although you chose to take it to be a personal attack, which is not allowed on Wikipedia. Trailblazer101 (talk) 14:42, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
- Calm down. Someone undoing your edit for copyright reasons is not a "personal attack". If you think that's the case, you need to log off and get some perspective. You were the one who started an edit war without reason because you seemingly feel an impulse to gatekeep the page from any edits from other people. The page can't simultaneously include a high resolution original unaltered image and adhere to fair use guidelines. Any fair use copied logo will be reduced to be low res. Just look at any page like the Star Wars series The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi or Ahsoka that don't use the original logo for copyright reasons. This isn't complicated and you seem to want to die on the hill of copyright violations. TC-01e (talk) 14:50, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
- For the record, the image you uploaded appears to be an edited version as no officially released version is plainly red. It also is not the same as the one you linked in the upload source. I have uploaded a better quality image to the proper file taken from the series' web page, though it will become a lower quality to conform with the image and copyright policy. Your attitudes in your initially unexplained reversions and alleging copyright infringement and a "hissy fit" are not helpful in collaborating with editors on Wikipedia, which is meant to be civil. Please review the guidelines and policies that have been linked to you from other editors' warnings above. I am happy to withdraw the report if a civil discussion proceeds. Trailblazer101 (talk) 15:10, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
- The newer version is plainly red because it does not violate copyright as it meets the originality threshold. The original textured logo on the other hand is copyrighted and cannot be used. Please just look at other pages, this is not an uncommon practice. The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi or Ahsoka are all examples of this being done. They all feature simple high resolution logos that do not violate copyright. TC-01e (talk) 15:14, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
- I have never seen images be intentionally edited to that extent and altered from the source. Per WP:Logos, "
logos are typically protected by copyright and trademark law and so cannot be replaced by a completely free alternative.
" Non-free title card logos can be used as long as it is given the appropriate copyright holder information and has a very limited use. The DC logo is part of their common branding, and should not be removed. The non-free logos have been used for other content such as Daredevil: Born Again, Echo, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. None of these violate the copyright and trademark policy. I did upload a higher resolution from the Max page for the series, which should satisfy the resolution issue and still falls under the grounds of non-free/fair use. Trailblazer101 (talk) 16:00, 9 May 2023 (UTC) - Also, per the non-free title card template: "
Because title cards or screens contain unique (and typically protected) creative expression, there is almost certainly no free equivalent. Any substitute that is not a derivative work would fail to convey the meaning intended, would tarnish or misrepresent its image, or would fail its purpose of identification or commentary.

The Penguin
[edit]@TC-01e: Just letting you know that Wikipedia is built around communication and working together to establish a common ground. Reverting edits without providing any rationale does not aid in being constructive. I am happy to discuss the image and copyright policies with you, as you seem new here, though I must stress that per WP:3RR, I have now undone your edits changing the logo three times and am providing you with an opportunity to discuss your edits and any potential concerns. Starting to engage in WP:Personal attacks directed toward another editor is not going to aid your case. Trailblazer101 (talk) 14:36, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
