Your contributed article, Fukushima nuclear disaster

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Fukushima nuclear disaster. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Oda Mari (talk) 20:09, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on UCLA Girl requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please provide some indication of coverage in independent media - YouTube hits alone are not grounds for inclusion. Acroterion (talk) 15:11, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You will need to be extremely careful with the chosen subject - please carefully review Wikipedia's biographies of living persons requirements, as the subject is clearly under those restrictions. Acroterion (talk) 15:15, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of UCLA Girl for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article UCLA Girl is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/UCLA Girl until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Acroterion (talk) 15:17, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Are blogs reliable sources?

[edit]

Wkipedia policy: "Several newspapers host columns that they call blogs. These are acceptable as sources if the writers are professionals and the blog is subject to the newspaper's full editorial control. In March 2010, the Press Complaints Commission in the UK ruled that journalists' blogs hosted on the websites of newspapers or magazines are subject to the same standards expected of comment pieces in that organization's print editions." See here. Kope (talk) 18:23, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No by and large blogs are not reliable sources. Especially not politically extremist partisan blogs like esbalogh.typepad. You should not inert them into articles. Also read BLP about what conduct is acceptable in biographical articles. (I think having a persons biography 50% be about a qoute is not acceptable). Constitution of Hungary

[edit]

Hello Tüzes fal, yes I took into account your edits, without reverting them, but integrating them in the updated version of the article on which I was working. That's why I waited for you to finish editing before beginning again. I'll try now to re-introduct some enhancements which have been lost over time, such as the paragraphing. I hope that we can talk directly for any other issue on the topic. Looking forward to collaborating, --Dans (talk) 13:48, 26 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removing Speedy at Éva Tétényi

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Éva Tétényi, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, then you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion and appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 07:39, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It was vandalism I only undid the vandalism. Tüzes fal (talk) 08:39, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey; just a note that I have unprotected this page - Dougweller was wrong to protect it having edited it - but that you would be advised to discuss it with him on the talkpage, without making additional edits until both parties are happy with them. If I see further BLP violations, I will be more direct than him and simply block you. Ironholds (talk) 11:21, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Just for the record, Dougweller was not wrong to have protected the article. He was acting only his capacity as administrator and does not want to become involved in editing the article. See WP:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Deletion of material for BLP reasons by Administrator who then protected the article. — Satori Son 12:55, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited Klubrádió, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Tender and HUF (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
