I see I traveled down this road before. Suriel1981, I just reverted to your version. SzeLee.Us, if you continue down this path, as a single-purpose account whose conflict of interest is plain to see, you will be blocked. You may update, you may add encyclopedic information that cites reliable sources, you may discuss things on the talk page--but you may not turn this into an extension of Diaz's web presence. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 18:03, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
DrmiesSuriel1981 Good afternoon. The information from my previous version was taken directly from the Official FL House website and meets the neutrality of the biographic guidelines. I'm sincerely trying to provide neutral information in accordance to the Wiki guidelines. Can you please indicate the specific information that does not meet the standard? I don't understand how the old version meets the biographic guidelines because it cited subjective news sources regarding the political races rather the biographical relevance of Jose Felix Diaz as a person and as an elected official. Thank you for your time. SzeLee.Us
Dear SzeLee.Us, you are confusing "objective" with "state-sanctioned" and "subjective" with "journalistic". The official FL site is a primary source, which is fine for the company website but not for an encyclopedia, where we are mandated to rely (mostly) on secondary sources. And those sources need to be reliable: see WP:RS. If we rely on what you might consider "objective", we're basically reprinting resumes supplied by the subjects. That cannot be. In addition, it is well worth your while reading Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 18:26, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for getting back to me, Drmies. I read over Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons. The example in the Public Figure section and the definition of neutral point of view indicate that the old version does not meet the Wiki guidelines. The "journalistic" perspective in the old version appears to be one-sided. I respect the neutrality of the Wiki platform and I'd be grateful for your advice on the best way to keep this article relevant and neutral. Thank you.
I'm not so sure about Sunshine State News, but you will not find it easy to convince other editors that the Miami Herald is somehow one-sided or unreliable. (And unlike the sourcing you propose, it's secondary.) But don't take my word for it: you can propose on WP:RSN that the Sunshine State News is unacceptable and see what the community thinks. You can ask about the Herald too, of course. I'm going to guess that you think the content does not reflect well on your subject; you may, if you like, get another opinion on another noticeboard, WP:BLPN (just click on those blue links and see where they lead you: I am not leading you astray). Perhaps that latter noticeboard will answer your question the soonest, in the most direct way. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 01:16, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your reply, Drmies. As journalistic perspectives are naturally subjective, I'm not looking to discredit Sunshine State News or any News Media. Though, the current language on JFD Wiki Page only presents a one-sided perspective as if it was written by a person who obviously dislikes JFD. I will look over the listed news articles again and see if I can add more perspectives from the current articles. If not, I will look for other news sources that can provide other perspectives to the current language. I'm hoping to add a more holistic perspective to the article so that users can have a more comprehensive understanding of the biographic history and topics. I'm not a Wiki Guru like yourself and I appreciate your advice during this learning curve. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your weekend. SzeLee.Us
