Little context in Mangroves in kerala
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Mangroves in kerala, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Mangroves in kerala is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Mangroves in kerala, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. - This seems to be contain just a copy of Mangrove#Ecology. So cuurently there isn't any content worth saving. Unless you can make more clear what there is to write about Mangroves in Kerala I'd indeed delete it. Often a more gradual approach works best, say by first expanding [[[Mangrove#Asia]] Above are some links that help you settle in. --Tikiwont (talk) 13:27, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
More about splitting
[edit]Hi. :) I note that you recently performed a split of material to the article Mangroves in kerala, and I just wanted to drop you a note to point out a few things about the procedure. As Wikipedia:Split sets out, when we split material, we have to provide a direct link to the source article. This is necessary because Wikipedia's contributors do not release their material into public domain, but retain rights to authorship under the terms of GFDL. This wikilink satisfies that requirement by allowing readers to access the history and see who contributed what and when. Usually, we put into the edit summary something along the lines of "Split from Mangrove". Then, we note the split as well in an edit summary at the source article. That would read like "Material split to Mangroves in kerala", in this case. This helps make sure that the article is not later deleted, as it cannot be as long as the article to which the material has been split remains. With this split, I have simply deleted the new article, since all the material is still in the source article. If you choose to split it again, please follow that process, but you may wish to consider Tikiwont's suggestion above about expanding the original article first. Thanks, and if you have any questions about this, please feel free to leave a line at my talk page. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:15, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
