Proposed deletion of Sammy & Sue Go Green Too!

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Sammy & Sue Go Green Too!, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Self-publishing (see Beaufort Books) does not attract notability; no references or sources, no claims or presence of notability

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Chameleon (book), and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.chameleonanovel.com/about_c.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 18:01, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have reviewed the text, determined that it was indeed a copyright violation, and removed it. The book seems notable, but we can't describe it using other people's words. Eubulides (talk) 21:07, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Sound of Falling Snow

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Sound of Falling Snow, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Book fails notability policy. No reliable sources are given that discuss the book (all cited sources are by the author or the author's organization). I looked for reliable 3rd-party sources about this book, and came up dry: all I found was self-promotion.

Eubulides (talk) 21:07, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Luke Lively, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Luke Lively. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Max Viwe | Wanna chat with me? 16:05, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Luke Lively requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ttonyb (talk) 16:10, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I see that we have advised you in the past about copyright violations. To put it succinctly: you assurance on the talkpage that the content is authorised is not enough, you need to follow the instructions at WP:IOWN above to donate the text. This is to protect the rights of the original publisher of the content, and cannot be avoided. I hope that you take this message to heart in the spirit it is given. If you continue to create copyright violations in this fashion we may end up at a place where you are blocked from editing the encyclopedia. Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions regarding this message. Regards, Syrthiss (talk) 16:24, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Abe Gilman's Ending

[edit]

The article Abe Gilman's Ending has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Long unreferenced article about a novel, no significant reviews, and no signficiant followup on the author or the topic.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Notice

The article Food Jobs has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails book notability guidelines due to a lack of major reviews or receipt of notable awards and fails the general notability guideline due to a lack of significant coverage in independent, reliable sources.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Notice

The article Chameleon (novel) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable novel of non-notable author. I found one review from Publisher's Weekly (which literally reviews everything, so that's hardly indicative of notability), and two puff pieces ([1][2]) announcing that it will soon be a movie. The article actually misrepresents this by saying it showed at Cannes, but spoiler alert: the movie never materialized. One routine review and two "gee whiz this will be a movie" promo pieces is not enough for WP:NBOOK.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
