Orphaned non-free media (File:Insurance_Technologies_Organization_Logo.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Insurance_Technologies_Organization_Logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 07:41, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
Spamming Horrornews.net
[edit]Please stop spamming articles with Horrornews.net as an external link or source of reviews/critical reception, as you have done twice to American Horror Story([1], [2]), twice to Friday the 13th (1980 film) ([3][4], and other pages: [5],[6]. This blog is far from a reliable source. See the WP:TVRECEPTION section of the Manual of Style for more information on appropriate sources for critical reception, as well as WP:ELNO and WP:ADV for guidelines on inappropriate external links. In addition, since you keep linking to this obscure website, please be aware that if you are in any way affiliated with Horrornews.net, you might have a conflict of interest and/or be seen as promoting this website. If so, you should avoid adding these links altogether or you might be banned/blocked. Thank you. --Logical Fuzz (talk) 01:27, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
Response to Spamming Horrornews.net
[edit]Authors note: (Sybrexx) Please note that this is a website I admire and think should be included in horror genre relevant articles. As far as the obscure, they are anything "but" with rankings competing with amazon, IMDB and even your own wikipedia. while that might not be a concern to wiki, it may be worth at least paying attention to. Number one listing in all searches for "Horror news"..etc (per investigation and their bio) you might query searches to learn that in many cases the site is beating Wikipedia in rankings or at least within the same page Ex: review the henry portrait of a serial killer, review the prescence, review alyce, Review Cut Throats Nine......
Additional Notes: Often, wiki uses alot of the same site references in regards to film review references. While sites like Rotten tomatoes (and related) might be known review sites, they are also non specific to genres. Actually unfairly promoting them as a general site rather than a more specific genre site. IMDB another case, where random users can enter in reviews "without background" and list within Wiki as a trusted source.
Wiki uses the term "blog" as almost in a condescending way, but in fact the entire internet is "almost" all built on blogs. Rather they are databases period. IMDB, amazon, TMZ all databases which began in blog format and grew.
I emailed them (HorrorNewsnet) to have an outside source write their wiki page, so that their is no affiliated conflict. As writing it myself seems like it would just get deleted regardless
Note: I apologize if I'm responding in the correct format, I'm still learning Wiki Sybrexx (talk) 20:35, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
