Pirate Party Luxembourg
[edit]Hey, Sven. Welcome to Wikipedia. I'm glad you've decided to edit articles related to PP. As someone that has spent a long time editing articles on the politics of Luxembourg, I'm always pleased to see other people help out, particularly on more obscure areas that aren't covered by non-Luxembourgish media.
However, there are a few problems. First, it is generally against Wikipedia policy to write articles on yourself or something in which you have a vested interest. There is no prohibition on doing so, but it does involve greater scrutiny of the edits. That leads to the second point, which is that references have to be from independent sources; one cannot cite the party itself except to quote the PP's opinions as attributed opinions. The article needs other, reliable, websites to support it, or it needs coverage in newspaper articles, etc (for example, I've cited one Wort article that supports the statement that you're the party leader).
The good news is that you're, hopefully, in a good position to improve that. I think that the PP deserves an article. I want coverage of Luxembourg to be as complete as possible, so I'm happy to help. But you're best-placed to provide links to any articles from newspapers, RTL, etc that have discussed any points in the article. If you point them out and put them in the article, I'll happily neaten it up and make sure it doesn't fall foul of the rules on conflict of interest or neutrality. Bastin 18:39, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
- Hey Bastin,
- First of all, thanks for clarifying some stuff about policies, we use MediaWiki for PP purposes so that I know the technical side far better than the guidelines ;) But as I stated I do not want to create conflicts of interest, mainly because all I want to do is clarify some points... I will try to do my best to stay neutral and if you agree I will turn to you for any question or for cross reading after my edits.
