[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent contribution removed content from Wikipedia. Where to ask questions

[edit]

I have reverted your edit to RFF because this is not the correct venue for questions. As outlined in its header, this page is solely for requesting assessment of a specified article to which you have made a significant contribution and wish to develop further. General questions about editing should be directed to the help Desk, the New Contributors' Help, Editor Assistance, or the Village Pump. Which of these fora you choose is influenced by the subject matter and your level of editing experience. Adrian M. H. 21:24, 22 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I was the editor who worked on your article. Changes were made in accordance with the Wikipedia style guide, which advises against using titles or honorifics when referring to the subject. Fellowships and such are OK to link to in the first sentence, but degrees and other accomplishments should be detailed in the main body of the article (for example, see Michael Woodruff). To add categories to the article, insert [[Category:category name]] to the bottom of the article. I've added your entry to Category:American physicians, Category:Living people, and Category:American surgeons, as requested. It would help if you supply a photograph, date of birth, a bibliography, and a couple of references in order to improve the article. Let me know if you have any questions. A tag has been placed on Steven A. Vasilev requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Rhode Island Red (talk) 04:01, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
