Sailing dead to windward
[edit]See this link for a rig capable of sailing dead to windward: http://foxxaero.homestead.com/indrad_007.html
While it's by no means a traditional sailboat, it still is generating power from the wind/water speed differential, so it is technically a sailboat, and it can sail dead to windward. I added a mention to the jibe article, since it is a relatively obscure concept. It might also be a good idea to add mention such obscure things as windmill craft, Flettner rotors, and the like, if the appropriate article can be found. Any ideas? scot 14:09, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
wow, I have never seen such a thing, I stand corrected, thanks. No no idead curentely, but I'll let you know. Supra guy 00:11, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

Re: rockets
[edit]You do know that a 'solid rocket' is one that uses solid fuel and emits a high temperature fluid (gaseous) exhaust. It's not a reaction engine driven by solid particles.
Reaction engines such as mass drivers aren't normally considered to rocket engines, since they don't work by jet effect and don't have throat, or a De Laval nozzle. Even ion drives are not strictly rockets; although VASIMR has a magnetic throat and nozzle and probably makes the cut.
Because of these points, I'm planning to revert your latest changes, unless you have a reference that having a non-fluid exhaust constitutes still being a rocket engine.WolfKeeper 02:38, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Hmm... I researched the things you have stated and found that you are in fact right. Forgive my ignorance and by all means revert it. Supra guy 03:38, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Cars
[edit]Supra Guy, do you own a Supra? If you do, you are undoubtedly one of the coolest people on the planet. If you do, what have you done to it? I think I would own one, if I could find one for sale and if I had a license and if I were 16...

Nah I don't own a supra just like them, I don't have my license either so that's also a problem. I've driven one though they are quite nice :P Supra guy 02:07, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
