Speedy deletion nomination of UNITED STATES OF AMERICA V. ONE LUCITE BALL CONTAINING LUNAR MATERIAL (ONE MOON ROCK) AND ONE TEN INCH BY FOURTEEN INCH WOODEN PLAQUE
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on UNITED STATES OF AMERICA V. ONE LUCITE BALL CONTAINING LUNAR MATERIAL (ONE MOON ROCK) AND ONE TEN INCH BY FOURTEEN INCH WOODEN PLAQUE requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. noq (talk) 19:43, 9 September 2012 (UTC)
I attempted to delete "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA V. ONE LUCITE BALL CONTAINING LUNAR MATERIAL (ONE MOON ROCK) AND ONE TEN INCH BY FOURTEEN INCH WOODEN PLAQUE" immediately after I createded the page, as I believed it would not support a stand alone page. I simply did not know how to delete it, which is why it shows up.

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Joseph Gutheinz, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mediator (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

FYI
[edit]Hi, any time you add content to an article, it is not considered a minor edit. Please only use the minor-edit check box when changing formatting, correcting errors, or other truly minor things. The general rule is that if you change the meaning of an article (by adding content) then it's not appropriate to check the box. Thanks, Dawnseeker2000 19:19, 1 June 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, SundanceXP. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Joseph Gutheinz, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.
All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.
If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:
- Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
- Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
- Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
- Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.
Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Well? Please let us know by posting on this or the Gutheinz talkpage. – S. Rich (talk) 19:46, 2 August 2013 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Joseph Gutheinz. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Sundance, please look at the talk page and the edit summaries I have provided. This article does not comply with Wikipedia policies, guidance or Manual of Style. The template serves to alert other editors of the problem. – S. Rich (talk) 21:10, 2 August 2013 (UTC)
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), such as at Talk:Joseph Gutheinz, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
Thank you. – S. Rich (talk) 22:19, 2 August 2013 (UTC)

Thank you. Why must I repeatedly ask for you to follow this simple editing courtesy? There is a good reason for asking. Why? Because when you don't sign, an automatic "bot" or program finds your talk page posting and adds a signature. These bot signings show up in the talk page history. Many editors elect not to show bots on their watch lists. When that occurs, and you have failed to sign, the posting you made does not show up. Again, please follow proper procedure. Thank you. – S. Hi, Rich: I am not as savvy as I should be on this. We just started communicating on this yesterday and I think I have done a lot already. Remember I am just a graduate student (Not IT) and therefore I am not an expert on computers or programming. I appreciate that you have made positive changes on our article that we have been working hard on for over a year, The idea about Wikipedia is to open the doors to non IT people and allow them to contribute and we have been trying to do this. I have accepted all of your changes without objection even though some of the items deleted were important to us. You are the expert and we appreciate your knowledge. I am going to step back and let my teammates take the lead on this article for a while to avoid any more mistakes, the research part of this was fun for me but making mistakes is not. SundanceXP Sandy. By the way, I don't know what an automatic "bot" is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SundanceXP (talk • contribs)
Sandy, you've been asked 6 times to sign your talk page messages (5 times here and once on the article talk page). Look above for the instructions. Signing means you type 4 tilde marks ~~~~, those little squiggly lines. When you hit the "Save page" button, your signature will appear in the saved edit. The "~" key is probably in the upper left corner of your typewriter keyboard. A "bot" is like short for "robot". Bots are little programs or applications that look at articles, talk pages, user edits, etc. and then fix problems. So the Sinebot comes along, sees that you did not sign, and adds the signature. Next it posts a message to you that says "Please remember to sign". Other bots will look for unbalanced brackets -- like [[ two brackets on one side and three on the other ]]] -- citation errors, etc. Sometimes editors employ bots to individually fix problems. Sandy, I'm not an IT person either. It just takes a little reading and exploring to figure out these things. – S. Rich (talk) 16:37, 3 August 2013 (UTC)

Graduate student team members
[edit]Are you Sandra Shelton? Are other members of your team Gutheinz's graduate students? – S. Rich (talk) 16:59, 3 August 2013 (UTC)
Hi, Rich: No I am not. She hunted down the West Virginia Goodwill Moon Rock and appeared on OWN network about it.SundanceXP (talk) 13:30, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
Hi, Rich: I just recalled Sandy Shelton did donate her picture for the article, which Miriah tried to post but she could not figure out how to do it per Wikipedia and it never took.SandySundanceXP (talk) 13:40, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
Hi, Rich: I just read the other part of your message. There were a couple of former graduate student of Gutheinz working on this article from years back. However, no one that has contributed to this article, to include people who just sent in pictures, were current students of Gutheinz. I know Elizabeth Riker and Sandy Shelton were asked for pictures and sent them in, but neither of them worked on the article and both of them were students of his in 2009 and 2010. I have not even communicated with any current graduate students of his on this article at all.[[User:SundanceXP|Sandy]SundanceXP (talk) 13:52, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
- I understand. It looks like all is okay. (You understand, of course, that I asked because of the same first names.) Thanks so very much. (BTW, WP:SELFCITE and WP:ABOUTSELF has guidance.) – S. Rich (talk) 14:07, 4 August 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Sandy, please see my remark on the Gutheinz talk page about WP:Bombardment and WP:CITEKILL. Please enlist your fellow Gutheinz editors to get on the stick and fix up the article. Thanks. – S. Rich (talk) 05:40, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
