Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from MCB Tower into MCB Bank. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 14:28, 12 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Caught by an open proxy block but this host or IP is not an open proxy. My IP address is 45.116.232.26. Place any further information here. Sulaymān Hercules (talk) 07:10, 13 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You have continued to edit, so presumably the unblock is no longer necessary. JBW (talk) 18:18, 13 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

To the reviewing administrator, I have scanned 45.116.232.26 and found it is no longer running an open proxy. However, I am concerned that IP address was blocked for spam and this account has a number of inappropriate edits. --Yamla (talk) 10:35, 13 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Mace (construction company) / LVMH

[edit]

Hi - Please don't move the names of companies without discussion. Mace Group is much better know as Mace and likewise LVMH is much better known as LVMH rather than its full legal name. Please read WP:COMMONNAME. Thank you. Dormskirk (talk) 11:25, 14 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please suggest where I can discuss the name change.

Hi - I have only reverted your changes for Mace (construction company), LVMH and CH2M Hill. I reverted these changes because the new names you had adopted did not seem to comply with WP:COMMONNAME. If you want to propose changes like this you need to comply with WP:RM#CM. This procedure will invite requests for comment, enable a discussion to take place for each of the companies and, ultimately, a consensus will be reached for each one. The is the wikipedia community who consider the matter and make the decision. Best wishes. Dormskirk (talk) 15:08, 14 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi - I see you are continuing to make page moves without following procedure or consensus. There is no reason to move Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (or many of the other similar changes you have made). Please move them back. Thank you. Dormskirk (talk) 15:40, 14 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Silkbank, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page IFC (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:20, 15 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to SABIC (Saudi Basic Industries Corporation), without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please read Wikipedia:Article titles#Precision and disambiguation. For articles like SABIC, we do not need the full name in parentheses. Instead, we can create redirect pages from other possible search terms. I have reverted a number of your other page moves for this reason, such as Toyota Indus Motor, since that is neither the proper title of the subject nor the shortest title.

Additionally, you do not provide any explanation to these moves. For the time being, I would suggest that you open a requested moves discussion on each article's talk page (the "Talk" tab on the upper portion of each page) for now, so that other editors can weigh in. Thank you. epicgenius (talk) 15:17, 16 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Toyota Indus, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Director.

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks!
