I thought since it was a posting I had made myself and made the changes that it pertained to, that I would tidy up the talk page. Do talk pages never get tidied up?

It looks like you are new to Wikipedia. Read the tutorial about how to edit pages as they are given to every new Wikipedian. Since you have a username and are signed up, and confirmed, YOU can edit ANY semi-protected page. Wikipedia:Tutorial go there to learn more. And talk pages, especially on busy or controversial topics, such as talk:global warming or talk:pope get "archived" or stored in separate pages which may be revisited.
