Patrol Appreciation
UHA - for your early suggestion in the correction of my wp:chauqg vs User:chauqg! Unfortunately, my learning by experience requires failures. I appreciate your time.
Thank You

Welcome from Redwolf24
Welcome!
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. We as a community are glad to have you and thank you for creating a user account! Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The Five Pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Editing, policy, conduct, and structure tutorial
- Picture tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Naming conventions
- Manual of Style
- Merging, redirecting, and renaming pages
- If you're ready for the complete list of Wikipedia documentation, there's also Wikipedia:Topical index.
Yes some of the links appear a bit boring at first, but they are VERY helpful if you ever take the time to read them.
Remember to place any articles you create into a category so we don't get orphans.
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, please be sure to sign your name on Talk and vote pages using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, or three tildes (~~~) for just your name. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome.

CMC
Hey again - Perhaps I should wait until we're published in the February '07 issue of IDM? Having just networked this fall, we're only in the three Universities' organization lists at the moment... --Kelly Kohnen 06:11, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hopefully you haven't taken offence to me blanking my talk page after discussing the CMC article with you... it seems some users have, and I'd meant no harm. Perhaps it's just the neat-freak in me.--Kelly Kohnen 06:37, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
Snakes on a Plane
You left a citation needed template on the article of Snakes on a Plane. When I added that information, I left in the edit summary that it was an interview with Samuel Jackson on David Letterman's late night talk show. If you know how to cite that please tell me, so I can cite it properly. If there isn't a way to cite an interview, then it should be removed. Get back to me as soon as you can. Thanks. --Nehrams2020 19:03, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
Accusation of vandalism
You left a message on my talk page accusing me of vandalising the megaproject article but did not explain how my contribution could possibly be considered vandalism. The Jubilee line extension clearly meets the definition of a megaproject, so I fail to understand why you removed it from the article, much less why you then accused me of vandalism!--83.216.157.38 12:34, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

The Gossamer Project
Hello--you marked my article on The Gossamer Project for speedy deletion.
I entered the information due to the reference on the Gossamer disambiguation page. Here's the situation: I understand that wikipedia does not like articles on web sites being written by those involved in them (I've been helping maintain the site since 1997) and thus, am trying to be very general and non-biased about what I enter. I know there have been some various culture/news articles (in pubs like The Washington Post, the New York Times, etc) which referenced the site and its position in the community over the years--would these be appropriate references for its notability?
If you think the situation (esp. my involved with the website) is reason enough for deletion, please do. I think that if that occurs, the reference on the disambiguation page should be removed too, but I'm OCD about that sort of thing. Thanks.

When the author of an article with a db tag on it blanks the article, we can interpret that as "OK, go ahead and delete it." Rather than restoring the content, just tag the blank page with {{db-blanked}} which means: "Author has blanked the page. Go ahead and delete it." Note that you can only do this if the blanking is done by the author and only significant editor. Fan-1967 22:27, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
Edit summaries on NP patrol
When you tag an article for CSD, would you mind using an informative edit summary, if only to inform the article creator to some extent? Also makes life easier for RC patrollers, I suppose. Thanks for the patrol, though - never enough people doing that job. Cheers, Moreschi 20:50, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

Pinky M. M. Bass and Pinky/MM Bass are the same person as Pinky Bass. I was not sure how to end up with one article except to do forewards to get to the Pinky Bass article. If you know another way please share with me. Artsojourner 06:18, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

db-repost on 'Brendon Mahon'
In looking at the content of the previously deleted articles at the title Brendan Mahon, it looks like this is a very different article than any previously deleted. I don't argue with the notability matter, but I don't think that db-repost is in order. You might take a look at the content of the previously deleted versions via Special:Undelete/Brendan_Mahon to verify. Regards --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 04:38, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi, you put a quick deletion on the page for Bob Haugen. I find it interesting that there is a page on the January effect but a page for the person who described and published a book about it - that page is marked for speedy deletion. I deeply apologize for thinking you and Bkonrad were the same person. Looking over the record, I see that you are completely different. You are easy-going and polite, and you like to nudge people, rather than slash them. I have lost a lot of respect for Wikipedia after witnessing Bkonrad's antics. He is far too hostile and defensive to do a good job as an administrator. I'll never look at a Wikipedia article in the same way again.Mauralarkins 02:23, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

reply from 68.111.239.209 (Maura Larkins)
- Your point is a good one, but I assure you I was editing MY OWN COMMENTS. As a result of being inexperienced, I forgot to sign in, and the bot signed my message with my computer numbers. 68.111.239.209 is the number of MY computer, as you can see from the history of this page and the discussion about it. I simply changed the signature from anonymous to my REAL NAME. I won’t be having this problem in the future, because I don’t plan on writing for Wikipedia anymore. Three days has been quite enough. You have been thoughtful and judicious in your actions, but I understand what John Conner 1967 meant when he wrote: “I don't edit anywhere near as much as I used to, due both to drift of interest and some growing negative trends I've been noticing here...” There’s too much negativity from people like Bkonrad. I made mistakes as a result of being new, and he’s determined to never let me forget it. It’s just not worth it. I’ve got better things to do.
- There’s no need for you to respond to this. I hope you continue to help Wikipedia improve. With more people like you it will continue to be a wonderful place to get information. I hope this is the end of my short venture into the world of Wikipedia. Carry on!

I created a sockpuppeter case about the user who created DJ Disco Wiz. Within two hours, an identical page was created: Dj Disco Wiz. I only noticed the second page because I have both users on my watchlist. Dj Disco Wiz should also be nominated for speedy deletion. If you check the template for {{db-repost}}, and the definition at WP:CSD#G4, it's been tightened up a bit to specifically refer to pages deleted through xFD (like AFD) only, not speedied articles. For previously speedied articles, you need to use the same CSD reason again, as appropriate (in this case {{db-empty}}). -- Fan-1967 23:46, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. Rather than reverting, discuss disputed changes on the talk page. The revision you want is not going to be implemented by edit warring. Thank you.

I have a problem. Someone deleted my information unfairly
I was wondering if you could help me. I was working on the article for the James Charles Kopp federal court proceedings and someone who isnt registered and just left an ISP address deleted my update and believe it or not ADDED grammatical errors I had fixed (ie: originally "pictures of aborted" changed into "pictured of aborted". It was all in my own words and I sourced everything correctly. You can see what I mean when you go to the history page and click on the submission I made at 2:35am EST and he made at 2:53am EST and compare versions. I was wondering how do I report this person? I added back in my information but I hope I don't get banned because I have added more than 3 updates today. —Preceding unsigned comment added by YourJessicaLynn (talk • contribs)

Appeal is not a coppywrited material
an appeal is not a coppywrited material, it is a public document. You can go to you local records office, ask to see them, and make coppies as you will, the only thing about appeals and the like is they cannot be edited. As you stated, the appeal I listed is not edited, it is a copy from the posting of the original.
LordVeovis 07:32, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- I agree with Lord. A public document is not copyrighted. Since it is difficult for everyone to get to a courthouse or law library, or to buy a subscription to a legal document Internet service, it is in the public interest to make public records available. Music in the Stone valid Wiki page
The album Music in the Stone does meet the requirements as a notible album as the terms say. It actually meets it in more than one way. It has an artist who later went on to do more notable work (more than one) who are also featured on Wiki, it was also releated in a 10 year ongoing project by Burren Action Group to raise money to prevent development of Mullaghmore.

WP:UW future?
Hi Subwayguy,
Sorry for the blatant spam, but you have yourself down as interested at WikiProject user warnings WP:UW. There is a discussion on going here that might be of interest to you about the future of this project. There are two strawpolls on the talk pages and the second one is about the future of the WP:UW project. Now we have the end in sight we are looking at wrapping up the project and merging it with Template messages/User talk namespace WP:UTM and creating a one stop shop for all userspace templates. As you have yourself down as interested in this project we thought you may have some input on this issue, and would like you to visit the discussion and give any thoughts you may have on the matter.
