Waves in the Sky Above

[edit]

Good day! Thank you for your note at my talk page. When I reviewed the article the only reference was to Discogs which is simply a listing of the album and the tracks on it. By the way Wikipedia is not considered a reliable source by Wikipedia and Discogs is similar, but that's not why I declined it. It is because every topic about which an article is written must have sufficient independent, verifiable sources to establish it's notability. There are not, for instance, Wikipedia articles about every album ever produced - only those that are sufficiently notable. The Wikipedia criteria for albums is set out at Notability Criteria for Albums and I have reproduced here as well:

All articles on albums, singles or other recordings must meet the basic criteria at the notability guidelines, with significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject.

An album requires its own notability, and that notability is not inherited and requires independent evidence. That an album is an officially released recording by a notable musician or ensemble is not by itself reason for a standalone article. Conversely, an album does not need to be by a notable artist to require a standalone article if it meets the General notability guideline. Album articles with little more than a track listing may be more appropriately merged into the artist's main article or discography article, space permitting.

If, as you have indicated, there has been a lot of discussion of the album, and you revise your submission include reference to those articles, you are welcome to resubmit it for review.

I hope this information is of some help. I am also going to add a standard "Welcome" greeting below with some helpful links for future articles you may write. I encourage you to stick around and write more! In the meantime, if I can be of any further assistance you can reach me at My Talk Page.
