User talk:Studio elastica
Based on your edits at Edgar Perez being the same or similar to other editors with a possible conflict of interest (contributions from Mredgarperez and Conspilhor), I advise you here of Wikipedia policies on conflicts of interest:
Hello, Studio elastica. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Edgar Perez, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. signed, Willondon (talk) 18:10, 14 February 2022 (UTC)
P.S.: you should trust editors at Wikipedia to curate the article on you. The stable version looks good and professional. Your additions of laundry-lists of peacock feathers makes it look embarrassing, transparently self-promotional, and amateurish. signed, Willondon (talk) 18:16, 14 February 2022 (UTC)
- I take your Thanks on my edit to mean you appreciate the efforts to accomodate relevant information into the article, while keeping it professional looking and helpful to the reader. Wikipedia's policies on editors with a conflict of interest do not prohibit them from editing articles. They do require that self-interested parties declare such (it's the ethical and classy thing to do). Then, the accepted protocol is for editors with a vested interest in an article to propose additions and changes on the talk page for the article. Those suggestions can then go through the filter of a disinterested editor, so that the article remains accurate, fair, vetted for notability and relevance, and presented in a format that makes information clear and easily located and understood. The end result is an attractive looking article of value to the reader. Sincerely signed, Willondon (talk) 16:25, 15 February 2022 (UTC)
