Hi Stuart, I added many links, headings and subheadings and made the writing a bit more efficient. I recommend you add citations for some of your sentences that require them and that currently do not have them. Otherwise, more research is needed in all areas but you have a basic solid framework with which to work in. -Mike Lidstone

[edit]Stuart, your article draft provides solid and relevant information about the regulatory framework and philosophies shaping what kids watch on TV. It's not always the sexiest topic, but policies do matter. I agree that the draft needed subheadings to separate different topics, but I think you may have to revise those that Octomom8 suggested slightly -- for example, Radio and Television both fall under the CRTC, so I would retitle Regulation of Radio Broadcasting to Regulation of Radio and Television Broadcasting, and then put all information about the CRTC here. The second section should really focus on broadcasters' self-regulatory bodies, such as CAB and the Children's Broadcast Institute - these bodies are voluntary regulatory bodies, not directly accountable to CRTC. The policy on advertising is also a voluntary one.
I'm a bit unclear on where this is going to go -- as a distinct article? It's a sizeable stub or start-class article, I think. You can still add it to the Social Aspects of Television article, but I need you to think about how you are going to integrate it into the existing article. There's a sub-section on Politics, but non on Regulation, so that might be one way to go. You need a main sub-heading that is broad enough that others could add to it, and then a subsection on Canadian broadcasting policy, and then another on the effects on children. So over the next week you should work on moving sections of your work into the main article, and integrating it. Don't forget to add to the lead section so readers know that the social aspects of television includes regulation and effects on children. Cliomania (talk) 18:09, 30 March 2016 (UTC)
