@The1337gamer: Thanks for the info. I just reverted the edits of this guy. I did not introduce any "innappropiate page", I just forgot tagging it for deletion after I returned these pages to their original title. Strakhov (talk) 16:37, 10 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ah yes, I realise you were just correcting the bad page move. I nominated the article through Twinkle so it automatically notified you. --The1337gamer (talk) 16:42, 10 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@The1337gamer: No problem with that. Happy editing. Cheers! Strakhov (talk) 16:45, 10 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your tag on the article was quite right as it was 1937. Back in 2010 a user claiming to be Sainz Nothnagel's made a bunch of edits to the article and it's still very messy as a result. I would clean it up but I know he would come back and do it again but I have changed the problem you correctly tagged. Keresaspa (talk) 18:19, 15 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Keresaspa: I know the feeling, that kind of editor is pretty annoying. Strakhov (talk) 19:51, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You uploaded c:File:Hand on the computer mouse - 50202556601.jpg from [1]. FYI, this image was used by Cory Doctorow who got targeted over it despite providing attribution. There are 261 files on Commons that include the name "Nenad Stojkovic" so I'd call this Marco Verch light. Edit: oh I'm not the first to notice this I guess: c:Commons:Administrators' noticeboard/Archive 88#Proposal to ban uploads from client of copyleft-troll company Pixsy from Commons and c:Commons:Village pump/Archive/2022/01#Cory Doctorow post on "copyleft trolls" mentions Commons. Alexis Jazz (talk or ping me) 04:18, 21 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Alexis Jazz. Not only that one if I remember correctly. I was already aware of this. I read about it in that Commons Village Pump thread a few weeks ago. I guess it's up to the Commons community to decide whether they want to push the big-red-marco-verch-button with the files from that Flickr account over this Doctorow's incident... or not. I do not think this is very en.wiki related at all. Honestly I do not feel comfortable being used as a tool for these profiting practices, and I do not feel comfortable with the idea of deleting CC BY 2.0 files either. Cheers. strakhov (talk) 05:27, 21 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Alexis Jazz: By the way, this issue has left me in "permanent doubt". Now everytime I upload a batch of good quality CC-BY 2.0 photographs from a new Flickr account (example), I end up wondering: "will this guy be the new Marco Verch?". strakhov (talk) 16:23, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In the metaphorical sense, you never know. In the sock sense, wewi-creative doesn't seem to match Verch's MO.Alexis Jazz (talk or ping me) 17:29, 21 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Alexis Jazz: by the new Marco Verch I meant a random new guy in the loose trying to make a living out of copyright infringements of nice Flickr free licensed photographs, not the very Marco Verch in disguise. Anyway, I hope not. strakhov (talk) 09:08, 22 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Lastima, lastima... Gitz (talk) (contribs) 14:20, 9 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
