Unblock
[edit]User: Stormrose IP:203.98.31.34 Msg: Autoblocked because your IP address has been recently used by "0485581". The reason given for 0485581's block is: I am a lecturer in Online Media at the Wanganui School of Design [1]. I set an assignment for students to signup for Wikipedia and spend at least ten hours "contributing". This is so that students get an understanding of the rise of social websites, and an understanding of how big wikis work. Wikipedia gets the benefits of their contributions. It seems that once my student "0485581" signup, it go autoblocked and shut out my other students: (User names: Jeckal, 0485581, Chuqing.sha) (0485581 also tried to register as "pidpee". She's happy using either account). This IP address the the proxy-server that our whole institute UOCL [2] uses. If this IP address is blocked then nobody from our our institute (thousands of students) will be able to contribute to wikipedia. Please do not ban us based on the actions of bad eggs. If you have an questions please post here.\ Thankyou.
- I have removed the autoblock so it should be ok now. The "0485581" account is still blocked it should not be used, it was blocked as an inappropriate username. Sometimes the autoblocker activiates again, in which case please repost the unblock message. --pgk(talk) 07:17, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Wywin (talk) 18:19, 22 October 2012 (UTC)Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay
[edit]Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.
Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.
Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
