[edit]Hello! I'm SMcCandlish. Your recent edit(s) to the page Felidae appear to have added incorrect information, so they have been reverted for now. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you.
In particular, you linked to a page that has a completely different meaning than the one obviously intended. — SMcCandlish ☏ ¢ 😼 16:24, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to Quill. Your edits could be interpreted as vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use your sandbox. Thank you. — SMcCandlish ☏ ¢ 😼 16:28, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information, as you did at Ali Kemal, you may be blocked from editing. AntiDionysius (talk) 15:23, 21 November 2023 (UTC)
Philippe Pétain
[edit]May I ask, what was your rationale for adding 'and statesman' to the short description in this edit to Philippe Pétain? The term statesman is generally not used for a politician who has been sentenced to death for treason. Mathglot (talk) 03:06, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Whatever your personal political views, it is not acceptable to use Wikipedia to promote those views. JBW (talk) 11:22, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
- Then could you please stop Zionists from talking trash about Gaza on their user pages? Stop the genocide (talk) 15:05, 21 November 2023 (UTC)
Adding link to articles, and invisible edits
[edit]- I see that some of your edits have added links from one article to another, known as "wikilinks". Wikilinks can be very helpful, so thank you for that. However, it is a very common mistake among new editors to add too many wikilinks to articles. Generally speaking, a wikilink should be added only if it provides information which is likely to help readers of the article in which the link is placed to understand content of that article, or provide further information closely connected to content of that article. That normally means a link to a page which either explains words or expressions in the article or provides background information which is necessary in order to understand content of that article. Linking to articles in other situations is not just unnecessary, it is actually harmful, because research has established that the more irrelevant, or only slightly relevant, links there are in a page, the less likely readers are to find the ones which they are likely to find useful. Thus, for example, nobody reading the article Number is likely to need to consult the article 19th century in order to understand what "19th century" means, nor does the article 19th century contain any information about what numbers are, so linking the one to the other is not likely to be helpful.
- Please don't make changes to articles which make no visible difference to how the articles are seen by readers, such as replacing the link [[number]]s with [[numbers]]. Doing so confers no advantage, and the more such unnecessary edits there are in the history of an article the more trouble it takes for editors to find significant changes in the editing history of the articles. JBW (talk) 17:27, 21 November 2023 (UTC)
- I second both those points. Also, please use an edit summary for each edit. That will help other editors to understand why the change you made is useful, and make it less likely to be reverted. Certes (talk) 18:33, 21 November 2023 (UTC)

Request reason:
If speaking against Israeli atrocity is a reason for block, take my ability to edit my talk page. From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free, and what you do now won't change that. Stop the genocide (talk) 18:50, 22 November 2023 (UTC)
Decline reason:
Wikipedia is not the place for this. See WP:BATTLEGROUND, WP:RIGHTGREATWRONGS. As requested, talk page access revoked. Yamla (talk) 18:56, 22 November 2023 (UTC)
