Stoomzee.com Links - March 2007
[edit]Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policy for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.
You added three different external links to your personal website, none of which contributed any actual content to the article. And you deceptively misrepresented a link to your website by stating it was a reference to a book by Ed Carr (which wasn't even on Northport anyway). Wikipedia is not here for you to promote your website. Fife Club 14:28, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
Stoomzee.com Links - January 2009
[edit]You've been warned before about adding spam links to this article. Whether your website is for-profit or not is irrelevant. It's not a primary source reference and it adds nothing to the content, so it is spam.
This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits. The next time you insert a spam link, as you did to Northport, New York, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. --Fife Club (talk) 06:16, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
