Information icon Hello, I'm Roller26. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to [[:ICFAI Business School Hyderabad The ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education]] seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Kindly check India'stop university pages like University of Delhi and pages of top management institutes like IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Lucknow to see how to write a college page with WP:NPOV. Roller26 (talk) 12:35, 25 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Roller, Thank you for your edits and comments. I am assuming good faith, and will try to improve the article in line with your suggestions. It will be great if you can demonstrate what you want by editing the article. After all, this is what Wikipedia is all about -- a collaborative platform. Stim07 (talk) 13:34, 25 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Stim07:, I have edited both the pages and removed all the non-NPOV material and the tags. IN IBS school page, there was no need to reassert that its one of the top business school in India, let its ranking and accreditation speak that. In the university page, it was to reliant on IBS accreditation and ranking. If both of them are notable in their own right to have stand alone age then the content should differ. You can have a look at the institute pages (IIM-A, IIM-L (its recognized as a WP:Good Article), University of Delhi) to see how even India's top institutes and universities don't mention that fact per se. You can also have a look at WP:College_and_university_article_guideline to further enrich your participation here at WP. In case of any further queries kindly ping me here on my talk page. -- Roller26 (talk) 12:22, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Roller26, Thank you for your time and efforts in editing and improving the articles. Your advice is also well taken. You are a great resource! Stim07 (talk) 13:00, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ryan Persaud

[edit]

Hi. Please note that this person fails WP:NCRIC as he has not yet played in a T20, first-class or List A match. Please do not create biographies for cricketers who have not yet played in at least one match. Under-19 matches do not count towards notability. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 07:21, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Ryan Persaud has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Hasn't played first-class, List A or Twenty20 cricket, so fails WP:CRIN inclusion.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Please confirm you have read the notability guide for cricketers

[edit]
As per my earlier message on your talkpage, above, please DO NOT create articles for cricketers who do not meet WP:NCRIC. If you continue to create articles for cricketers that don't meet the notability requirements, this could be seen as disruptive and lead to your account being blocked. Please reply here to state you understand this. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 18:39, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. I confirm. Stim07 (talk) 18:45, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 19:07, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on ICFAI Business School Hyderabad, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. 1292simon (talk) 02:44, 13 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Renée Mauborgne moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Renée Mauborgne, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted because it included copyrighted content, which is not permitted on Wikipedia. Control copyright icon Hello Stim07, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to Draft:Renée Mauborgne have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. All other images must be made available under a free and open license that allows commercial and derivative reuse to be used on Wikipedia.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Curbon7 (talk) 23:34, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Curbon7, Thanks for your developmental feedback and comments. This article is a special case and may have (in parts) content similar to that in Wikipedia article W. Chan Kim. Renee and Kim are both notable for their collaborative work. Something as simple as a Google search will make this obvious. It's only fair that both the people have their Wikipedia pages (here, the female collaborator does not have a page which I was trying to remedy. Wikipedia being a collaborative platform, some help in this regard from experienced editors such as you will be very helpful), though there will be overlaps. Anyway, your comments about copyright are well received. Stim07 (talk) 03:06, 10 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't do this again

[edit]

You've been changing American-style dates to British-style dates in articles (e.g., [1]). The Wikipedia Manual of Style says that dates should be styled according to the national variety of English most associated with the articles. Ergo, articles on American topics should use American-style dates. Please don't change them. MarconiCheese (talk) 13:36, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Got it. Thanks. Stim07 (talk) 13:41, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Covidivider

[edit]

Hello, Stim07. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Covidivider".

If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
