Justin Timberlake
[edit]You said: "The album cover for FutureSex/LoveSounds IS in use. What are you doing? It's the album cover. It has the source as well. Please refrain from removing images without first checking it's usage."
- This image is missing the mandatory detailed fair-use rationale as required by the license. It is a violation of Wikipedia's copyright and fair-use policies to continue using it. --Yamla 16:09, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
- Read the what it says in the ALBUM template. It pretty much lays it out. I will however post the full written statement. Many of the album images on many pages, you will find, don't include that. In the future, you may want to contact the originator and ask them to add it. Stewiegfan 23:07, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
Thank you! I appreciate your addition of this mandatory information to the image. I did contact the original uploader but unfortunately, they decided to simply ignore the problem. Cheers! --Yamla 23:15, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

Adam Levine
[edit]Do you have a source that he is half Scottish? All I could find on him being "half Jewish" are fansites and other similar sources. Articles from the Jewish press just say "Jewish". His mother's maiden name is "Noah", which doesn't sound Scottish. Mad Jack 08:15, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
I'll look into it. Adam has made it a point to tell fans that he is actually half-Jewish. From an Orthodox standpoint, Adam wouldn't be claimed as Jewish. However, biologically, and in many corners, he still would be. I'll ask for more on the fan boards. Stewiegfan 08:23, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
Janet Jackson
[edit]You asked: "Is there a reason why you removed the cover for 20 Years Old from the Janet Jackson videography page?"
- Yes, it needs a detailed fair-use rationale for each use on the Wikipedia. It's been justified for Janet Jackson and for 20 Years Old but not for anywhere else. --Yamla 14:45, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
- It has a detailed fair-use rationale. The page contains covers to all previous albums. You know Yamla, you can help out too, but adding a link yourself. I think you can figure out when pages are using the image fairly, but forgot to go back and link one thing. Stewiegfan 18:34, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
Madonna edits
[edit]Just want to apologize to you, when I think we could have come to a better solution by talking here first, I didn't want to start a "revert" war. I want to help you edit the article. Yes, I am a fan, and yes, I agree we don't need all that information there. That's why I got to thinking and extremely condensed that addition but still leaving bits and pieces in there.
That said, I want to work together to get the page back to the way it once was, a featured article. What do you say? Stupid arguing, when we both want the same thing basically. Ejfetters 04:43, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
- No problem. Looking good anyway. ;) Stewiegfan 05:56, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
I have replied to your warning on my talk page.

Thanks for uploading Image:1136510175.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Poorly sourced and potentially libelous edits
[edit]Stewiegfan. Please stop making the following edit into the Matt Drudge article. Drudge, who is known in many quarters to be a closeted gay man, continues to state that he is in fact not gay, even pointing out to a UK newspaper that he was almost very close to marrying a girl at one time. However, many contrary facts have come to light including e-mails Drudge sent writer, David Brock, asking him for a date. Drudge continues to deny the fact that he is a homosexual.
Controversial material of any kind that is unsourced or poorly sourced must be removed immediately, especially if potentially libelous. If such material is repeatedly inserted or there are other concerns relative to this policy, report it on the living persons biographies noticeboard.
It has been reverted, will continue to be, and you will be reported on the living persons biographies noticeboard if you continue. Please do not insert this same unsourced, or poorly sourced, potentially libelous material into this article. Caper13 01:54, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Whitney houston1.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Whitney houston1.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.
Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Extraordinary Machine 14:17, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Image:Jensaun.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Jensaun.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Fair use rationale for Image:Madonnagoingtotell.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Madonnagoingtotell.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:58, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Madonna-finger.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Madonna-finger.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. Disputed non-free use rationale for Image:Mad-jumpvid.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Mad-jumpvid.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 18:36, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
