Adoption
[edit]Hi Steven Crossin,
I've started to clean up the Adopters' list. You appear to have changed username since you added yourself to the list but not updated your info there. In case you're still interested, can you kindly update your information? Or, if you're not interested any more, would you mind removing yourself? Thank you and happy editing, Snowolf How can I help? 12:56, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
- Also, haven't saw you on IRC in a couple of weeks, how are you? :) Snowolf How can I help? 12:56, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
You are now a Reviewer
[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 20:54, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Gonna try and be somewhat active again...good luck there..heh. Steven Crossin The clock is ticking.... 08:20, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
Thanks
[edit]Thanks for reverting that vandalism to my user page—first time anyone's bothered to vandalize it. –Grondemar 03:18, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

Just letting you know
[edit]Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. (Since you were indirectly involved.) elektrikSHOOS 04:35, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks. I've made comment there. Steven Crossin The clock is ticking.... 04:38, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you for your contributions to this matter. I'm sorry to have contradicted you, but I hold a great devotion to the truth, and I cannot tell a lie or even support an honest misunderstanding, even if it is to my benefit. Anyway, your maturity and attitude have been much appreciated, and I wish you the best in your future endeavours. 98.82.0.102 (talk) 05:45, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
- No problem. I did later realise my mistake, but didn't have access to a PC (saw it on my iPhone). Just keep your nose clean. Happy editing :) Steven Crossin The clock is ticking.... 06:00, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

Your removal of a vandalism report
[edit]Hi there. Why did you remove this vandalism report with this edit? The issue has not been resolved, an administrator did not take a look at this obvious vandalism. Is there any reason (like a WIkipedia Guideline) why you did that? Amsaim (talk) 10:02, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
- I removed it because it hadn't been looked at for over 2 hours, and no edits occured since the report was filed. You are free to re-file a report if they start vandalizing again. It was merely procedural. Steven Crossin The clock is ticking.... 11:04, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
- The vandalism case was reported on 05 August 2010 at 01:48 am, and you removed the case from the Avi board exactly 2 hours & 23 minutes later on 05 August 2010 04:11 am while the case was still unresolved. My question is this: is there a Wikipedia Policy/Guideline which allows a non-admin editor to remove, and thereby close, an open unresolved case of vandalism which was reported at the Avi board some 2 hours earlier? Thank you. Amsaim (talk) 12:36, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
- Stale reports are often removed if the target is no longer vandalizing ("
{{aiv|nowstale}}
"), and it doesn't necessarily need to be by an administrator. –xenotalk 17:14, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Define "personal attack"
[edit]What part of this did I violate with this edit? One user has called this a personal attack.[1] I can't find anything on the list resembling my comment. I thought my comment was simply figurative language. I can certainly see why someone might not like it, but is it now a requirement that I can write nothing that others won't like? That leaves no room for disagreeing, for heaven's sake. Calling this a personal attack means that anything they don't like can be a "personal attack". Help me understand this, please. 98.82.0.102 (talk) 03:45, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
- I can see how what you wrote has annoyed people. Whether it constitutes a blatant personal attack is another matter but honestly, it's probably best to just let it be. Steven Crossin The clock is ticking.... 03:52, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
- I understood that, which is why I did not reply there. But at least you understand that it is not a personal attack. I can't imagine how some of these people survive in the real world, if they take offense so easily. It just amazes me.
- Thanks for all your help. I'm going to enjoy myself more now that I've removed myself as an irritant. Take care, Steven. 98.82.0.102 (talk) 03:56, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
- No problem. Just keep your nose clean, ok? Steven Crossin The clock is ticking.... 03:59, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
- I'm really going to try, amigo. But half the reason I'm going to try as hard as I am is because of you. I don't know if you're into the Bible or not, but look at Genesis 18:32. No, I'm not saying I'm God, what I'm saying is that you and a few others--who do see what is important, who are here for the right reasons, and with the right attitude--you deserve to be spared from this kind of garbage. To continue to argue with the myopic majority would be to waste your time and to show disrespect to you, and I would never want to do that. (By the way, I'm not a Bible-thumper, I just remember that story from childhood, and in a weird way, it kinda explained my decision.) 98.82.0.102 (talk) 04:09, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

Adoption
[edit]Hi there: I'm a pretty new user looking to be adopted. I've made some contributions already and I really want to learn more about the Wiki so I can become a productive editor. I took a quick look at how you treat adoptees... you seem to have a really in-depth program. I assure you I'm ready to learn. I put a few more tidbits on my user page; please consider adopting me.
Thanks, GreenLineMan (talk) 22:38, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
- Hey there. I'd be happy to. However, do note that I am not as active as I used to be, and my editing can be sporadic at time. Additionally, I'll be traveling to China in about a week, for a month, and I doubt I'll be able to access Wikipedia there. I'm still happy to adopt you if you'd like, just let me know. Steven Crossin The clock is ticking.... 04:55, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
- That should actually be alright with me, I think it would do me well if I took a little time to figure things out on my own first. When you get back, I'll be that much smarter and you can teach me things that are more advanced. So thanks! GreenLineMan (talk) 02:52, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
