wikileak/wikipedia confusion
[edit]Hi Steve, I noticed that you appear to have got a bit mixed up between wikipedia and wikileaks over at Talk:Israel_Shamir#Did he really serve in IDF?. Just in case you didn't already know, they are not related. You might want to correct it by striking through the incorrect parts using this code: <s> </s> on either side of the text. Please let me know if you have any questions about how wikipedia works. SmartSE (talk) 17:17, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
- Hi Smart, Thanks for that. I fixed it as you suggested. I am a novice and probably got involved too early. I've withdrawn from the discussion. I found I was spending too much time sparring with one editor and feeling shot down. I had not known Shamir and am distressed by the tone of his articles, but do not feel his intentions are malevolent. I was very disappointed when I looked him up out of curiosity, to see a political battle being conducted on the pages of Wikipedia. It seemed to me that considerable damage was done between one edit and the next, with an incomplete translation of a quote, now propagated throughout the web. I find I am not qualified to mitigate that damage. Best regardsStevePAbbott (talk) 21:32, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
