[edit]Hello, I'm NeilN. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to Fundraising because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. NeilN talk to me 19:06, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add soapboxing, promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, as you did at Fundraising, you may be blocked from editing. NeilN talk to me 19:28, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you use Wikipedia for soapboxing, promotion or advertising, as you did at Fundraising. NeilN talk to me 19:49, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
- In case the warnings above don't make it perfectly clear, while including all of the advertising information in an image is certainly an interesting approach, you may not advertise on Wikipedia. In any form. --Versageek 19:54, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
- Why can't I edit Wikipedia?
Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.
- Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?
Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again.
- What can I do now?
If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you may consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.
If you do intend to make useful contributions here about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:
- Add the text
{{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
on your user talk page. - Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
- Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. --Orange Mike | Talk 04:12, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
Please read
[edit]The relevant guideline is WP:WATERMARK. I've removed some self-sourced content from the article - if there's more, please let me know. We don't support any kind of advertising. --NeilN talk to me 04:18, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
Fundraising
[edit]Hi Startups Paradise. To clarify, the Wikipedia article you were editing was about Fundraising, whereas the image appeared to have no information about fundraising, but only about some kind of program called "Funraising". The contact information was clearly an attempt to advertise and not to give credit for the image. Wikipedia does not allow contact information anywhere or any kind of instructions for how to obtain a product or service, or join a program, as we are a historical reference work with no intention of helping people find products and services.
