Foreign Language References

[edit]

English Wikipedia has to be in English, but foreign language sources are fine. I reverted your edit to Panama.Kww (talk) 14:09, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Not preferred" is a long way away from "forbidden, and needs to be deleted". If an editor has a choice between an English source and a foreign source, he should always include the English source. If the information is only available in a Spanish source, he should go ahead and use the Spanish source.Kww (talk) 14:26, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Just to explain my reversion on this article: WP:PUNCT which is part of the manual of style contains the following on punctuation and quote marks: "Punctuation marks are placed inside the quotation marks only if the sense of the punctuation is part of the quotation. This practice is referred to as logical quotation; it is used by Wikipedia both because of the principle of minimal change, and also because the method is less prone to misquotation, ambiguity, and the introduction of errors in subsequent editing." In this case, the period/full-stop is not part of the name "O-Town", so should be placed outside the quotes. Regards. --Michig (talk) 18:49, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, saw that earlier. My mistake. No worries.Startstop123 (talk) 19:14, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about The Chemistry Set (American band)

[edit]

Hello, Startstop123, and thanks for contributing to Wikipedia!

I wanted to let you know that some editors are discussing at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Chemistry Set (American band) whether the article The Chemistry Set (American band) should be in Wikipedia. I encourage you to comment there if you think the article should be kept in the encyclopedia.

The deletion discussion doesn't mean you did something wrong. In fact, other editors may have useful suggestions on how you can continue editing and improving The Chemistry Set (American band), which I encourage you to do. If you have any questions, feel free to ask at the Help Desk.

Thanks again for your contributions! SL93 (talk) 21:51, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Tall Birds has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:YAMB. The coverage provided and available amounts to passing mentions only, failing WP:MUSICBIO.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
