(Nice work on the Clarion Fund article.) -- davidz (talk) 20:45, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
- I appreciate your interest in finding the middle ground on articles in dispute. I reverted your edit on "Obsession" both because of the hanging ref., and for the general clarity of the article, particularly if not read in full. However, I believe that the article lacks a similar(to that which you deleted) summary statement for the support of the dvd. Any suggestions? Altairah (talk) 07:01, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
Hi Stargat,
Nice cleanup of the prose.
Rebecca Kabat wrote to the IRS that: "The film 'Obsession' was produced by Castello Limited." (emphasis added) What do you suggest for a way to write that? And what do you think of IMDB as a source it in the lead? Also, to my literal mind, "movie" seems preferable to "film".
Thanks. -- davidz (talk) 00:15, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
Hello,
Why did you remove the {{for}} template at the top of the article?[2]. -- davidz (talk) 00:09, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

Obsession
[edit]Stargat, I am concerned that your edits of "Obsession" violate wiki policy. You may not realize this, but multiple sources/cites are encouraged on Wikipedia. The primary problem is actually a lack of citation. (See template Template:Onesource and Wikipedia:CITE for a better understanding) If you are going to remove valid citations, please at least make sure that the references left are archived: Wikipedia:Citing_sources/Further_considerations#Pre-emptive_archiving
Further, your understanding of quotation formatting seems limited. Please read Wikipedia:MOS#Quotations. (Specifically, block quotes.) I would appreciate your reseting the quotations correctly.
Whenever possible, preserve information in an article, don't delete it. (Read Wikipedia:Editing_policy#Preserve_information ) Removing redundancies of content is often not advised, instead improve NPOV by adding content with a different bias.
When adding references, many editors choose to use Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#Invisible_comments inorder to point out a specific location of cited content. This is often done with a quotation from the source. As these are invisible, they are there for the convenience of editors only, and do not contribute to article content issues, such NPOV or weighting. Taking the invisible comments out makes more work for future editors.
Sorry for such a long addition to your talk page. We all make mistakes, and I can see from your contributions that you're working hard. I appreciated your deletion of IMDB as a source; they are indeed not a reliable one. I've meant to look for another reference for the international distribution. Were you unable to find one? Thanks for all your hard work, and feel free to ask any questions on my User_talk:Altairah Altairah (talk) 10:31, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

U.S.-based articles
[edit]Please do not use styles that are unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Newt Gingrich. There is a Manual of Style, edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. In particular, WP:STRONGNAT indicates that articles about U.S. subjects should use U.S. style (mdy) dates throughout. Thank you. Fat&Happy (talk) 00:25, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
Edit Warrior
[edit] You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others and avoid editing disruptively.
In particular, the three-revert rule states that:
- Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue to edit war, you may be blocked from editing without further notice.--William S. Saturn (talk) 17:33, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
- This is not true. You are the one who has disengaged the discussion and is reverting my changes. I have replied on your Talk page. Stargat (talk) 18:09, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
