Meh.
Stupid yankees. Congrats, I suppose. :-) We'll see what happens next year. I'm wondering who Cashman will let go. And honestly, were you a betting person, I'm willing to guess you wouldn't have picked this guy for MVP??? Sorry to hear about your "back to normal" Giants too. :-) Keeper | 76 03:59, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
- Nope, never would have picked MAtsui, much as I like him. I think it's his last day as a Yankee, which is sad, but what a way to go out. We need the DH slot for others, including Posada when we poach the likely other MVP who wants to play for more than monopoly money. I think if Andy wants to come back they give him amother year - ditto Damon, if they're not too greedy. Giants, *grumble* enjoy the bye StarM 21:48, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
- I'm one of the few die-hard twins fans that thinks Mauer should take the Yankee money in a New York Minute. Potentially the highest paid player in MLB. I'm predicting a 5-7 yr deal upwards of 200mil. He'd be an idiot not to take it. Besides, he can always finish out his twilight years back home. We'll still love him. on a tangential sports related matter: not sure why god thinks all yankee fans are nt giant fans, and feels compeled to even things out.--brewcrewer (yada, yada) 03:58, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
- I'll admit, I very much enjoyed the Chargers game today. Keeper | 76 04:05, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
Chargers and Cards killed me because we coud and should have one. Eagles and Saints we got beat plain and simple. Unlike majority though, I won't give up. Can someone explain WTF a Silver Slugger is? Seems like an Old Timers award. Thursday nights Bears 49ers? What a suck-tastic game StarM 00:13, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
- Bears game was great, love to see the divisional teams lose. As for silver slugger, I know who can explain WTF it is :-). Meaningfulness? Meh, I agree. I suppose it's mostly just "MVP per position" so that Mauer has more trophies to add trophy case. Vikes are 8-1. Hey, weren't our teams both 5-0 at one point? Seem to remember that. Keeper | 76 04:07, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
- Oh I know - by that measure Packers Cowgirls and Eagles Chargers were "good" games too, but at least Cowgirls watchable, but barely. Bears 49ers was just a godawful game. You know that article doesn't clarify it for me any more than the odds of the kid in KC getting Cy Young, but I don't "do" stats. Yep 5-0, and a long season. I refuse to panic. Would like to see Colts come back and hold out chance for undefeated Super Bowl, but wow Rams made that interesting StarM 04:32, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
- For the 5th time in his 8 seasons as skipper, my man gets the Susan Lucci runner-up award to another coach for AL coach of the year. Meh. Although, Scioscia did coach very well too. Keeper | 76 03:15, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

WP Museums question
Hi Star Mississippi, I am doing some cleanup/developing work on Museums in Greece stubs. On May 2008 you had created a project subpage with requested articles. It would be of great help if you tell me by which criteria these particular articles are "requested". Was their notability somehow established? Hoverfish Talk 19:58, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
- I'm trying to remember exactly, and User talk:Himalayan Explorer may have more memory of this, but I think it was based of those listed in a Greek directory of museums. I need to look back a little on this and am a little time limited these days, but HE may be able to look into it (or remember) sooner. Thanks for your help in clean up/development StarM 02:15, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
- Yes Himalayan, formerly Dr.Blofeld, surely would know all about it, since he created all these dictionary type entries. I just saw your name in the WP requested list and wondered if somebody else had done some selection /filtering. From your answer and from further observation I presume not. I had worked with Blofeld in WP Films and know his method. He has motivated a lot of progress in many areas, so it's a bummer when I find myself in the position of having to nominate groups of his stubs for deletion, as will soon be the case in Greek museums. When I determine what is to keep and what not I will inform him about the cleanup results. Thank you for your answer. Hoverfish Talk 05:54, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
- I'm sorry I can't give you a better answer - and the static-state of some of those articles is my fault in that I probably should have done more to flesh them out but I burned out on Wikipedia and didn't have as much time to work on these as I might have liked. Sadly I don't know who has the time right now since our other fairly prolific helper has been banned as sockmasters, etc. StarM 02:55, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
- No problem. I have advertised for help both in WP Museums and WP Greece and got already one editor wishing to develop Greek museums. However the results from my ongoing work to determine notability are bringing out a lot of items that were pronounced as museums which actually are not, and several were misnamed. Here is my work page. If you scroll down to section 3.2 you will see what I mean. Development will be slow but once I am done, there will be a visible priority scale based on importance to facilitate work. I understand well from personal gnome-experience what you write about getting burned out after a while. In any case, stay reassured that I am no trigger happy on AfDs. - No worries, I'm sure you'll do an excellent job. The question of museum notability when they actually do exist is a tough one that's never really been resolved. Of course those located where English is common are easier to source, followed by those in locaions where we have editors who speak/read the local language to help find sourcing. The issue with some museums is that of the English "name" of the museum, some of which have many different transliterations. I see from a quick look at your work page that you're exploring that challenge, which is great. I weighed in on your post on WT:MUSEUMS re: assessment, which is another issue. I really appreciate your help and am happy to try and help if I can. Happy Thanksgiving, if you happen to be in the US StarM 16:26, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
