Notability of Klikradio

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Klikradio requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Accounting4Taste:talk 22:32, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As you requested, I have moved the deleted material into a sandbox page at User:StarD/Sandbox. However, before you proceed, I strongly encourage you to read our guidelines about notability, because based on what you said I very much doubt that your Internet radio station meets them. Being written up in your local paper is not sufficient evidence of notability to meet the guidelines. In order to be notable, a topic must be the subject of expert opinion that puts it at a much broader level of knowledge than your local paper (this comes under the heading of reliable sources). I just want you to be very sure before you proceed that you feel you can bring enough references to this article to prevent it from being deleted -- I think it would be a shame if you worked away at this and learned later that it couldn't possibly survive. You will find some excellent and useful information in WP:Why was my article deleted? and WP:Your first article, as well as the links in the welcome message I left you above. If you have any further questions about Wikipedia policy, I'll try to answer them. Accounting4Taste:talk 22:59, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
