Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 22:22, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks SineBot. I was code copying instead of using the tilde. Trying it out now. StarBaby5 (talk) 22:34, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Thanks

Re your message: Deletion discussions can become quite interesting and heated as you noticed, especially with certain topics. Thank you for encouraging everybody to remain civil and respective of everybody's opinions. That is one of the cornerstones of Wikipedia and is sometimes forgotten during deletion discussions. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 23:38, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Do not

[edit]

Comments like these are indeed irrelevant and personal, and can be read as a kind of outing, which is not OK here. I suggest you give this AfD a rest; I certainly think you should stop commenting on other editors. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 05:43, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Quasi Montana

[edit]

Just wanted to sincerely apologize if you feel I may have diluted your Intellectual Property by choosing this pseudonym for use during this discussion. As soon as is practicable, I will be taking steps to resolve this issue to what I hope will be your satisfaction. When the name was chosen it was without prior knowledge of the situation vis-a-vis "88", your involvement in the discussion, or considering the possible implications of the CC licence. The name was chosen to demonstrate knowledge of the SP universe, and because I felt it "fit" the situation, as I said before, almost definitely too cute by half. I do this because it is the Correct Action, and while I cannot expect any quid pro quo, I would ask that you reexamine some statements you may have made regarding my participation in this issue, and take whatever Actions you may feel are Correct regarding them. When doing so, I would ask that you acknowledge that the single negative statement regarding Star Pirates involved its lack of notability, and my dismissal of many of "88"'s claims. To be honest, had there not been an edit conflict which prevented one of my posts being added, I would have been staring down the barrel of the same freeze gun you and "65" were, as I have a similar opinion on his ilk. I accept that some may feel I was a bit confrontational or aggressive, but lets be honest, no one wanted to hear what I had to say, no matter how I said it, I was provoked into confrontation on several occasions and at least I was able to make "116" look good. I also feel that much of what was intended as actual, genuinely helpful advice was grossly misinterpreted as snark or overbearing because it wasn't what they wanted to hear, and I was "the enemy". I do acknowledge that I might have handled the questions regarding my identity better, but my privacy concerns trump and I wanted that clear in no uncertain terms.Quasi Montana (talk) 22:56, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Request for username change has been made. Quasi Montana (talk) 08:39, 15 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Have been manually chaning old signatures, but there are some instances of the old name I am not authorized to change, as they are not my posts. If you and Shinobi1991 agree we can merely delete the two sections in the AfD where you question me regarding the username, but I need both of your permissions. Quasi Montana (talk) 11:52, 15 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I hope you aren't done quite yet, please observe my changed vote on the AfD page. I believe this would be the best possible outcome and would encourage you to work towards it. An SHG page would be free to include a sizeable section on SP, and certainly the StarCrash Universe, SB, and other sections, like your webcomic partnerships, funding, etc... Page would need to be created, presumably by someone other than yourself, McMaster and Hamilton articles for reference, any others of course helpful. I know its not as "sexy" to the SP playerbase as a dedicated SP article would be, but it is a way forward.

THEN, I would suggest that you advise the SP playerbase who have already voted in the AfD to change their votes as I have, ensure that they strikeout their old vote using . If you get the SHG page up, I think a request to delay completion of the AfD process might be appropriate, it might also be possible to bring some of the neutral editors who have already voted delete to join us in consensus. Sometime in the future change in notability guidelines, or change in SP's notability might justify (re-)creating its own page.

I admit I was hoping for a bit more on the SP Forum that the clarification you gave, specifically a repudiation of your characterization of me as a troll who is bashing SP. I can respect that you feel that you've already committed more time to this, than you can justify, but it was refreshing to be able to interact somewhere where our positions are less asymmetrical.

Also, I will be leaving messages on Shinobi1991's and Captain Waffles (IP) userpages, but I can't make them log in here to read them, letting them know their participation is required and why helpful, if the purge of QRE from current Wiki pages is to be completed.
