Welcome!

[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! –Ammarpad (talk) 11:19, 17 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

By creating this account, I believe I meticulously followed Wikipedia’s guidelines for disclosure of paid contributions and conflicts of interest (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Paid-contribution_disclosure#How_to_disclose and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest) but I’m happy to adjust the information to be fully compliant. Regarding the user name: I’ve chosen this name to make it easily recognizable as an account that I use for posts in my capacity as an employee of Stampa, and as the description states it’s only created for myself. Again, I’m happy to adjust this in order to be fully compliant.

Accept reason:

Username has been changed and you seem to be trying to comply with the paid contributor guidelines in good faith; per this and the discussion below, I'm removing the block. Yunshui  10:58, 19 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:08, 17 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

The initial user name I chose was to make it easily recognizable that I would use the account for posts in my capacity as an employee of Stampa, and as the description in the user page states states it’s only created for myself. However, I do understand why it may have come across as an account that represents more than one person in the company, which is why I suggest this new user name in order to be fully compliant.

Accept reason:

Although not to my personal taste, the proposed username is compliant. As to the promo part of the block, user is attempting to comply with WP:PAID. Have discussed with blocking admin.Allowing username change to requested username. Please select an option from Wikipedia:Changing username and file a request as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. --Dlohcierekim (talk) 17:05, 17 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Jimfbleak: Unblock?--Dlohcierekim (talk) 15:38, 17 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Dlohcierekim:, I don't object to the editor being unblocked to create a new account, but I'm not sure that GerrieStampa complies with our user name policy much more than Stampacom. Happy to leave it to your judgement though, thanks Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:45, 17 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Jimfbleak: <<sigh>> Technically, I guess it is complying. But I think it is too close. Will leave it to another. I would recommend something w/o "stampa", but we will see. Maybe an anagram? --Dlohcierekim (talk) 15:51, 17 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I had just implemented a COI edit request of theirs on the article Optiver. Should I self revert? Please advise. Thanks.  Spintendo      16:50, 17 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Spintendo: I think not. Just double check to make sure I missed no promo content.--Dlohcierekim (talk) 17:00, 17 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Unblocked

[edit]

The "promo" part of the spamu block was actually an attempt by the user to comply with paid. Sorry for the aggravation. Please place template:paid on your user page to make it clearer that you are attempting to so comply. Thanks. Welcome back.--Dlohcierekim (talk) 17:09, 17 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I'll add the 'paid template' tomorrow GerrieStampa (talk) 16:41, 19 April 2018 (UTC) I've added the 'paid template'. GerrieStampa (talk) 15:46, 24 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
