Hello, Ssutton27 and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students. Go through our online training for students

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one please tell your instructor about that. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! ___CAPTAIN MEDUSAtalk 22:54, 28 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Culture of the Hawaiian people

[edit]

Hi! I saw that you moved your sandbox work live, however it looks like it's a section rather than a page in and of itself. Also, keep in mind that there is already an article on the Culture of the Native Hawaiian. This page doesn't need a section about the geography of Hawaii (ie, just geography), as there's already a main article on this. I would recommend that you instead work on a section about the history of Hawaii's culture. So for example, a section like this could have content such as this:

Information on how the different cultures has impacted the native culture, on how the Polynesian culture has impacted the native culture- and how it has changed over time. You could also include how the native culture has impacted the overall culture of the Hawaiian Islands and how geography has impacted the culture. For example, have any of the islands been remote enough from the others to where the culture developed differently?

Also of note is that you should avoid point of view terms like beautiful, as this will be subjective to the reader. While some may agree with the description (I would), there are also those who would not. At the very least using terms like this comes across as non-neutral. I've moved your work back to your userspace for the time being.

I hope this all helps! Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 15:52, 14 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
