[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Russia do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Green Giant (talk) 15:45, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did in Sochi. It is considered spamming, and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising. Thanks. —Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 18:39, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
Image without license
[edit]Unspecified source for Image:Russia-kizhi.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Russia-kizhi.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:08, 11 July 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? --MifterBot (Talk • Contribs • Owner) 14:08, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
External links
[edit]Before adding a possibly inappropriate external link to an article, like you did at List of Russian river passenger ships, please discuss the changes on the article's talk page first, as this is normally considered spam. You are welcome to continue contributing, but please keep in mind that Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links, and failure to abide by these policies could unfortunately get you blocked or even banned. Thank you. Rich257 (talk) 20:46, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
Travel All Russia
[edit]I actually didn't delete this article -- I just deleted the redirect Travel all russia after the main article was deleted by two other administrators. They did so because the article seemed to be an advertisement for your company (see WP:SPAM) and because the company did not appear to meet the notability guidelines of WP:CORP. Fair use rationale for Image:Travelallrussia.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Travelallrussia.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Soxπed93(blag) 16:31, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference
[edit]Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true
. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false
in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer be able to have them marked as minor by default. For more information on what a minor edit is, see WP:MINOR or feel to get in touch.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 21:20, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
