Proposed deletion of Fat Head (Documentary)

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Fat Head (Documentary), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Film fails all of the notability criteria for films. This a appears a straight to DVD release, that hasn't been screened anywhere. A google search for "Fat Head" "Tom Naughton" reveals some coverage in blogs, but nothing that would satisfy the general notability requirement of "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject."

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. AfD Nomination: Fat Head (Documentary)

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that Fat Head (Documentary) meets these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Fat Head (Documentary). Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. Yilloslime TC 04:54, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hey man. Judging from your message here, it seems to me that you might not get what's going on with Fat Head (Documentary). There are a few ways that articles can get deleted from wikipedia. One is that someone places as {{PROD}} template on the article, and if it's still after 5 days then an administrator comes along and deletes it. I put such a template on the article the other day, and that's what message above ("Proposed deletion of Fat Head (Documentary)") was all about. And then you removed it, which is fine, but I still thought (and continue think) that the film doesn't meet the inclusion guidelines for films (which you can read here). So, now I'm pursuing deletion by a different route. Specifically I have nominated the article for deletion, by listing it at Articles for Deletion, and that's what my second message ("AfD Nomination: Fat Head (Documentary)") was about. So basically, there's a discussion on the fate of the article happening here, and you may want to weigh in. The discussion will last 5 days, thereafter an administrator will divine where consensus lies. If consensus is for deletion, the admin will then delete it, otherwise it will remain. You best chance for saving the article is to demonstrate that it meets at least one of the notability criterion mentioned at WP:MOVIE by incorporating appropriate sources into the article. Hope this helps. Sorry if you already knew all this. Yilloslime TC 23:30, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
