Galatasaray S.K. (men's basketball) edits

[edit]

Thanks for your edits on this page and also thanks for stating some information rather than random removal of the content. I've been trying to correct that roster related part for a long time and your edits have been a great help.Rivaner (talk) 06:34, 9 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hopson is still listed at the Galatasaray webpage so do not remove him from roster. Sportando announced that news just like a rumour, thats not official.--Bozalegenda (talk) 15:15, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

February 2018

Information icon Hello, I'm Whispering. I noticed that you recently removed content from Halil Paşa without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. [edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of populated places in Northern Cyprus, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Varosha and Trikomo (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 11:26, 19 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve List of schools in Northern Cyprus

[edit]

Hi, I'm Boleyn. Sportscorrection, thanks for creating List of schools in Northern Cyprus!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Please add sources per WP:SourceList.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Boleyn (talk) 07:16, 13 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The article List of Türk Maarif Koleji alumni has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Reports the same information as Category:Türk Maarif Koleji alumni, most of those listed are not notable

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Invitation to participate in study

[edit]

Hello,

I am E. Whittaker, an intern at Wikimedia with the Scoring Team to create a labeled dataset, and potentially a tool, to help editors deal with incivility when they encounter it on talk pages. A full write-up of the study can be found here: m:Research:Civil_Behavior_Interviews. We are currently recruiting editors to be interviewed about their experiences with incivility on talk pages. Would you be interested in being interviewed? I am contacting you because of your involvement in Wikipedia’s Women in Red project. The interviews should take ~1 hour, and will be conducted over BlueJeans (which does allow interviews to be recorded). If, so, please email me at ewhit@umich.edu in order to schedule an interview.

Thank you Ewitch51 (talk) 21:33, 18 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

FEF Champions League moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, FEF Champions League, does not have enough content or citations to remain published. I suggest you improve it and publish it when there is some useful information to include. I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article is ready for mainspace, please follow the confirms on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 09:57, 26 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:FEF Champions League

[edit]

Hello, Sportscorrection. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "FEF Champions League".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Legacypac (talk) 08:44, 28 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

December 2019

[edit]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Rhian Brewster, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Mattythewhite (talk) 00:17, 19 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The fact that Rhian Brewster's mother is Turkish Cypriot was there before I made any changes. Since his mother is Turkish Cypriot, he is eligible to play for Turkey or Cyprus. This is common sense. There already are reliable sources cited for the fact that his mother is Turkish Cypriot. Sportscorrection (talk) 11:57, 19 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Rhian Brewster

[edit]

Hi, on your edit of Rhian Brewster’s page you stated he is eligible for Cyprus. This is a small error as it would be the case in other nations. However, in Cyprus only Greeks are allowed to play for Cyprus. The Turks are not. Thank you TurkishSportsandLife (talk) 17:46, 5 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi TurkishSportsandLife, do you have any reliable source to prove this suggestion? Also, most of the Turkish Cypriot people are not happy with being called a 'Turk', while a similar thing can be said for some Greek Cypriots on being called a 'Greek'.--Sportscorrection (talk) 18:00, 5 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, appreciate your response. It is not true that they do not like being called that, but that’s not important anyway. There is currently and has been for decades, an embargo on Turkish people participating in sports in Cyprus it is forbidden to join any national team or federation. Only Greek teams are allowed in the league and only Greek players in the national team

TurkishSportsandLife (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 17:38, 6 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/may/31/mustafa-ankinci-advocates-focus-future-for-splintered-cyprus

Here are just a couple sources. If you would like you could also take a look on Wikipedia, there is a page about the embargo on the Turkish community in Cyprus. It has plenty of sources on there which you can take a look at too.

TurkishSportsandLife (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 17:41, 6 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

As a Turkish Cypriot person living in Cyprus, I can easily say that you are making illiterate comments with sources not covering what you are claiming to be true. Turkish Cypriot people can and are playing sports in Cyprus, both South and North. For international sports, there is no rule that a Turkish Cypriot person can not play for a national Cypriot team. For example, there have been many Turkish Cypriot players on the Cypriot rugby team. Yes, it is a racist approach by some of the federations to not to call Turkish Cypriot players. The embargo is about accepting Turkish Cypriot federations as a member of the international (con)federations, and thus not allowing international sports events in Northern Cyprus.

It is clear that you do not possess enough information to debate on such a complex issue. Please stop making claims on issues that you do not have enough knowledge. Sportscorrection (talk) 15:08, 8 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Excuse me, but do not accuse me of racism or anything. I don’t care if you live in Cyprus I am Turkish too, stop making this racial. Do not ask for sources and then when they are provided you deny them. I provided you sources, I asked you to research, there is a whole page on here stating what I am saying. If you are unable to accept this then I can’t understand what your aim is? Are you trying to vandalise? I am editing facts and I have provided you with sources so what is wrong there?

TurkishSportsandLife (talk) 20:34, 8 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your claim is incorrect. I even provided a source which talks about athletes in other sports. This is not just an issue about football

We don't have separate articles for each revision of a government

[edit]

You should be updating this Council of Ministers (Northern Cyprus), to the current membership, not creating a brand new article with no context. E.g., while there might be an article about what this particular government did, a simple list of who was in the government isn't worthy of a standalone article. Anyway, I have no particular interest in taking this further, I just think you should reconsider your edits. Thanks - QuiteUnusual (talk) 17:33, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
