Thank you for implimenting the block, but I believe it is clear from the user's edits that he/she is not here to contribute constructively. Out of the user's eight edits, one was a threat that he had other accounts, two were additions of unreferenced content, and the other five were the disruptive edits.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 13:06, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Some did well this week, but a lot of you didn't move much. Some are still hanging under the 200 mark. Our current top 8 are all over 200, so if you are below that line, get moving! There is a poll up at the talk page about the rest of this year's competition. If all of you could give your opinion there, it would be very much appreciated.

There were a few mistakes in last weeks' newsletter. Apologies about that. In regards to the competition, a few of you shot up in points this week. Very, very impressive. However, now that some have shot up to the top, others of you have to work even harder to catch up! There are about 3 weeks left in the round, so if you're behind, now is really the time to start nominating content, so that it can count for this round. If you wait too long, we won't be able to hold off the round while your content is being reviewed.
Per this tiny poll, the remainder of the competition has been altered.. sorry!! The changes being made are as follows: "We will be combining the last three rounds. Round 4 will now last from August through September, with 8 contestants. On September 1st, however, we will eliminate the bottom four contestants. The top four contestants will continue the round with the same score. Then, one person will win out of the remaining four on September 30th." You can also see this change to the main WikiCup page.

I read the hyperlink you offered. That appears to apply to new articles about individuals (i.e., candidates for being the subject of a Wikipedia article) and not for adding people in a list. For example, if you look at the Wikipedia article on Glenville High School (where the creators of "Superman" went to school), there another "notable alumni" who, like the people you deleted from SHHS, are in red. So your edits do not appear to conform to Wikipedia standards nor are they universal. I can give you other examples, but I think you get the point. Please advise.
P.S. Where in Ohio did you go to high school?

Thanks. I don't know about the people you mentioned in your reply; however, Dr. Theodore Einstein, William Kahrl and Linda Rogoff are all who the listings said they were. You can Google all of them and find them (I assume you don't want me to include hyperlinks to them), plus Linda Rogoff is mentioned in the Wikipedia article for George Segal.
As for "hyperlink," you inserted something that, when I clicked on it, took me to another article. That is what is generally considered to be a "hyperlink" and that is fairly how the Wikipedia article on hyperlinks may be read.
Perhaps because I am relatively new to editing in Wikipedia, I was surprised to read your comment about vandalism on some Ohio sites. Do people log on & then trash the sites? Or does something else happen? (High school rivalries can run high in Ohio, which is actually why I asked where you went to school.)
Also, is this the best way to communicate? Or should I do it some other way?
Thanks.

For sourcing on Bill Kahrl, Ted Einstein & Linda Rogoff having attended SHHS, you can always look at the SHHS yearbooks.
For Bill Kahrl, you can also check the Yale yearbook for 1968; for Ted Einstein, you can check the Harvard yearbook for 1969. These list the high schools they attended. I don't remember where Linda Rogoff went to college, but you can probably check her obituary in the Cleveland Plain Dealer from June of 1996 for verification that she went to SHHS.

Just because one cannot review something electronically doesn't make it false. There is more to research & fact-checking than the internet.
If you have e-mail, I'll scan the yearbook pages & e-mail them to you.

The Christianity project and its related projects currently have 76 FAs, 8 FLs, and 148 GAs. We gained new recognized content in each field, with 4 FAs promoted, 2 FLs, and 3 GAs. Congratulations and a big thank you to all those who worked on these articles!
I am still working on the categorization matter. With any luck, we should have some results by the end of the month. There are also some discussions regarding project related activities at Wikipedia:WikiProject Christianity/General Forum. One issue in particular that might be addressed is possible elections of new coordinators. Anyone interested in serving in such a capacity is more than welcome to indicate as much.
Related projects news
The WikiProject Films has recently created a new task force for Christian films. All interested parties are welcome to join and contribute.
Member contest of the month
The previous contests are still ongoing, because of the extreme amount of time the categorization is taking me. Anyone who can bring any of the few Stub class articles among the project's 1000 most often accessed articles by the end of July will get an award. Please see the details Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Christianity#Project challenge of the month.
Welcome to the Tenth issue of the WikiProject Christianity newsletter! Use this newsletter as a mechanism to inform yourselves about progress at the project and please be inspired to take more active roles in what we do.
It has been a long time since the last coordinators election. There is a lot for people to do, and I certainly would welcome seeing any individuals with an interest in such a position put themselves forward as candidates. I in particular would very much like to see some degree of "specialization" in the coordinators, so that, for instance, we might have someone knowledgable about some of the specific Christian faith traditions or other main subjects, like Orthodoxy, Lutheranism, Mormonism, the Jehovah's Witnesses, art, theology, and so on. If any parties who have experience with some of our faith- or- subject-based content would be interested in being candidates, I would love to see them do so. Please feel free to take part in the discussion regading what the minimum number of category items is, and how to deal with the non-qualifying categories, on the General Forum page.

Hello all, iMatthew here. I just wanted to let you know about "The Great Wikipedia Dramaout" which starts this Saturday. The goal of the Dramaout is to spend five days working on improving articles and abstaining from any of Wikipedia's drama. I don't think that any of you will have a problem focusing on articles for five days, because of course, any work you get done during the Dramaout will count towards your score in the WikiCup. Details are on the page; hope to see you all signing up! :) iMatthewtalk at 00:27, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
About two weeks left, now. To those of you in the back, don't give up. There is still enough time to get some more work done. To those of you in the front relaxing... don't. We've seen it happen before, where users in the back will jump ahead in the final weeks and make it though.
We'd also like to wave goodbye to Scorpion0422, and thank him for all of his hard work this round even though he knew he needed to withdraw at the end of it.
