User talk:Solo999
Welcome to the Wikipedia!
[edit]Hello, and Welcome to the Wikipedia, Solo999! Thanks for weighing in over on Cesar Tort's talk page. Here are a few perfunctory tips to hasten your acculturation into the Wikipedia experience:
- Take a look at the Wikipedia Tutorial and Manual of Style.
- When you have time, please peruse The five pillars of Wikipedia, and Assume good faith, but keep in mind the unique style you brought to the Wiki!
- Always be mindful of striving for NPOV, be respectful of others' POV, and remember your perspective on the meaning of neutrality is invaluable!
- If you need any help, post your question at the Help Desk.
- Explore, be bold in editing, and, above all else, have fun!
And some odds and ends: Boilerplate text, Brilliant prose, Cite your sources, Civility, Conflict resolution, How to edit a page, How to write a great article, Pages needing attention, Peer review, Policy Library, Utilities, Verifiability, Village pump, and Wikiquette; also, you can sign your name on any page by typing four tildes: ~~~~.
Best of luck, Solo999, and most importantly, have fun! Ombudsman 17:09, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
- You may wish to consider Wikipedia:Neutral_point_of_view which does not support Ombudsman's persistent declaration about unique perspectives. Midgley 10:57, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
Your block problems
[edit]Hi. I saw on the Administrator's Noticeboard that you have been having problems editing articles using AOL as your IP. I can assure you that the block log has nothing specific to this account, and administrators of Wikipedia do not have the ability to see what IP you are editing from (so they couldn't be blocking the IP just to stop you from editing). What is likely happening is people using AOL are vandalizing the encyclopedia and are being blocked, and because of the dynamic nature of AOL IPs you are ending up blocked as collateral damage. I can recommend this link (Wikipedia:Advice to AOL users) to hopefully help you in editing here. If you find yourself blocked, you could also click on 'email this user' on my User:Syrthiss (or any other administrator) page (in the "toolbox" a little ways down the left side of the screen) with the IP copied from the block notice and I can check about lifting the block. I'm sorry you're having such a difficult time, and I hope that you can accept my assurances that nobody is consciously trying to keep you from editing. --Syrthiss 18:24, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
- You are welcome to also contact me for such "autoblocks" to be lifted here. Ian13/talk 18:45, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
Good, I'm glad to head that the problem has resolved itself. :) --Syrthiss 12:05, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
Biopsych
[edit]Hi Solo999,
I’ve seen your comment in biopsych talk page. As I just told Kim van der Linde in her talk page, it would be a lot easier if someone else writes the “concrete proposal”. The material is all there in my subpage User talk:Cesar Tort/discussion or the FDA bullet quotes. —Cesar Tort 04:02, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
