Aegyo

[edit]

Good luck with your discussion question at Talk:Aegyo#Why Korea?. I removed the Rfc header, as there has been no prior discussion, and WP:RFCBEFORE applies, but the discussion can continue. I left you some additional tips at the Talk page. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 06:47, 16 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My bad, didn't read it carefully. How do I advertise this discussion on projects? I assume I should go to WP:ASIA or WP:KOREA, but I can't seem to find an obvious place to ask for input? Projects is kind of dead in zhwiki and I'm not sure how active they are here in en, but just in case no one participates in the discussion, what would be my next step? Sohryu Asuka Langley Not Shikinami (talk) 07:14, 16 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, not a big deal. Next step is WikiProjects, and the two you listed are logical choices; I added three more to the Talk page. As to where to advertise it, that would be on the Talk page of each WikiProject, so for example, at WT:KOREA by starting a new discussion at the bottom of the page, in a brief, neutral fashion. For example, you could entitle it == Feedback requested at Talk:Aegyo ==, and then say something like, "Your feedback would be appreciated at [[Talk:Aegyo#Why Korea?]] ~~~~", and add an edit summary at the bottom. You can copy your feedback request to as many relevant WikiProject Talk pages as you like. That way, the discussion remains in one place, instead of getting fragmented all over, and any interested user only has to go to one place to see the single discussion on the topic, possibly by contributors to various different WikiProjects. I have subscribed to your discussion, and will be interested to see how it proceeds. Hope this helps, Mathglot (talk) 07:39, 16 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, request sent to wt Korea and Asia. On an unrelated matter, may I ask for you opinion on subject 1 and subject 2? To summarize, I think the act of "treating it as surname + given name" is original research, but there is the undeniable fact of WP:COMMOMNAME policy supporting the use (though I believe that's due to WP:CITOGENESIS).
