[edit]WUDT-LD broadcast frequency
[edit]Hello! Yeah, I added the comment "looks like WUDT-LD is moving back to VHF 8" because they actually did broadcast on that frequency at one point, but at just 300 watts, which provided only a very limited viewable area due to being sandwiched between WJBK (VHF 7) and CBET (VHF 9), both of which caused minor adjacent-channel interference. The station *SHOULD* have moved back there at the completion of the 600 MHz spectrum auction in the first half of 2021, but for whatever reason, remains. The reason is that they are horrifically short-spaced to Toledo's WNWO-TV (NBC 24), which was forced to move from UHF 49 to UHF 23. They *should* be on VHF 8, but they remain on UHF 23, and no one I've contacted seems to know why (they have not received a waiver from the FCC or permission from WNWO-TV. I can only imagine that if WNWO-TV were to complain of excessive co-channel interference in Monroe County, Michigan, then WUDT-LD would be told "time to make the move, already or shut down until you can" by the FCC. So, for now... their broadcast frequency should be listed as UHF 23 (with a construction permit to move back to VHF 8). You can update it if you're able to confirm they've at least begun testing on that channel (or I can, if I find that out first, it's not a race :) ). I'm also in the Windsor area, and while the signal for WUDT-LD is difficult to pull in (mostly due to co-channel interference from WNWO), i can confirm they're still on UHF 23. I've only managed to pick up WNWO twice on UHF 23 since early 2021. RingtailedFox • Talk • Contribs 22:16, 14 March 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for taking care of the article. Please confirm testing if you'd like; I haven't learned how. What a mess this station!
- My long-time interest in OTA television has put me in a position to advise on the updated antenna setup for my 17-storey condo building. I've never gotten a signal for channel 8 or 23 from unamplified rabbit ears I've taken to the rooftop. Other reception closely matches RabbitEars.info. SofDetrHerg (talk) 22:45, 14 March 2022 (UTC)
