Steve McQueen

Hey Soetermans :3

Amazing story about Steve McQueen by the way ~

I only removed the wikilink to Steve McQueen as I wanted to reference him in a way which wouldn't take anything away from the setup of the template itself, such as entitling the template something along the lines of Steve McQueen's Bodily Fluids Triptych, or something to that affect. I only used that colour scheme due to the Star Wars template, which seemed justified. The word 'adaption' is a very loose term which is why it could be used in that content ~

Further more, if Christopher Nolan is able to have a template as such, then why can't McQueen?

Sorry for my late reply, I didn't notice your message, with that "warning" I received later on. I think you should try to establish notability first, create the article Bodily Fluids Triptych and then a template apparently is justified. Yeah buddy, you might want to double check. First off, my edit was perfectly fine. It is a favourite of The Orange Box can also mean that The Orange Box likes Portal the best. "It is considered one of the best" doesn't say what. It also crosses WP:NPOV anyway. Second, as you can clearly see from my talk page archives, I've been here for a while. It is common courtesy to not use those kinds of automated messages. I also noticed you've just given a admin a final warning, so I'm kind of thinking you don't really care at all about stuff like that. Anyway, I've reverted it to the previous revision. --Soetermans. There is nothing "wrong" with using citation templates in external links, as long as they produce an appropiate output - also it is generally a good idea to name the source of the content in external links, though other parameters are superfluous.Prof.Haddock (talk) 19:22, 24 January 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for your message. You're right, there's nothing "wrong" with using the reference template, but they aren't intended to be used in that way either. I can see why an author would be good to mention in a link, but in the previous revision it said "title = Panta Rhei Engine PS4 Tech Demo| date = Aug. 2013| work = www.youtube.com", fields which are of course used for references, and that's why I reverted it. Yes, actually, it does. Overwhelming is an adjective, it says something about how to look at the reception. In this context, it is a weaselword that crosses neutrality. Just because it has been like that for a long time is never a reason to keep it that way. It seems to me like you're not reading my words, so I'll try again. Wikipedia is a collaborative effort, and all those links I've cited are decided upon consensus. I'm not just making this stuff up, they aren't my opinion personally. I'm afraid you're wrong, because it doesn't summarize the critical reception at all, it says that its reception was something special, something out of the ordinary. That is called, again, a weaselword: to sneaky add words or sentences like "award-winning", "most popular" or, in this case, "overwhelming". If you would want to show that MGS4 was very well received, you should let the article speak for itself: the scores and awards it has won are factual ways to show that. I again am asking you for proof to show otherwise. Maybe you're not familiar with Wikipedia, but you should read the guidelines, because it does matter, even if you don't agree. Somehow you seem to think that I don't know that MGS4 was very well received. Let me assure you that is not the case. I again am saying that a word like "overwhelming" has no place on Wikipedia. If you are familiar with the rules you would know that. We don't say "MGS4 is a great game" either, and we don't say "its reception was amazing" either. I'm not making empty threats either, I'm saying if you don't take heed to my words you might get blocked. And again, it is not how I want it, it is how Wikipedia has decided articles should look. In the edit you link to on Russia-United States relations, Zmaher was removing unsourced content. However, apart from that one, every one of his/her edits since the block expired has repeated problems that he/she has been warned about in the past, so I have blocked the account again, this time for a month. It is very frustrating, because we are dealing with an editor who is doing a significant amount of good work, and it shouldn't be necessary to resort to blocks to deal with what are basically minor problems. However, when those minor problems go on year after year, and no attempts to communicate get through to the editor, it becomes a major problem. Hi Epochpilot,

You must mean psychological horror, concerning edit. I took out for a couple of reasons. 1) Underhell isn't notable for Wikipedia. What I gather from the page linked, it has been downloaded 65,000 times, which in video game terms is next to nothing. There is no Underhell article either. 2) having a direct link (like the one I just made) is not suitable for articles. After the article body, the external links section can show other relevant websites for the subject. 3) Wikipedia has strict rules against advertising, both explicit and implicit, and because Underhell isn't notable right now, having it here is more promotional than actual informational.
