AfD nomination of Government Scientist

[edit]

I have nominated Government Scientist, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Government Scientist. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. January 2009

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Government Scientist, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Do not delete the AfD flag from the article. sinneed (talk) 14:04, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi SocialGhost - and welcome to wiki-editting. I've changed my view on deletion Government Scientist per Uncle Gs comments and want to help out with the article. It seems however that you and Jonathan de Boyne Pollard have gotten into a quasi-editwar and I suggest we discuss it on the talk page instead of reverting each others edits back and forth. Remember: "assume good faith" and "be civil". Also, as Sinneed commented above, don't remove the AfD notice until the debate has been closed by an admin. It's considered vandalism by default and will make alot of other editors assume to worst about you. Usrnme h8er (talk) 14:44, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • Hi again, just wated to call attention to the quote from the above welcome message: "Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. ". Saves me having to add Unsigned notifications when I answer your talk entries. There's even a "Sign your posts" button for the tildes at the bottom of the edit window. Thanks! Speedy deletion of Venom Hunter

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Venom Hunter requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Mike Rowe, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. tedder (talk) 03:50, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Some of the most popular programs in discovery channel are narrated by him. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SocialGhost (talkcontribs)

That may be, but "some of" is a peacock term, he certainly doesn't narrate Mythbusters, others are unsourced or are already listed in the main of the article. tedder (talk) 03:57, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
