Testing my signature

[edit]

I can't figure out how to test my signature in the edit page, but I need to test the link so I am adding this post. snreyes User talk: Snreyes 19:46, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I found an example so here we go. Another test. snreyes (talk) 19:48, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Lmao. I forgot to change the Example user to me. So here we go again. Something is wrong with the talk link, but that's fine for now. snreyes (talk) 19:50, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Jamedeus. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Killings of Aaron Danielson and Michael Reinoehl seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please also review the policy on original research - we can't say things like Reinoehl ... felt safe enough to attempt to cross the road unless reliable sources make this claim explicitly. Jamedeus (talk) 05:22, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the feedback. I changed the grammar to be more politically neutral and to match the ProPublica video evidence that showed the incident more clearly: "A police affidavit requesting a warrant for Reinoehl's arrest, released after his death, included surveillance camera evidence showing that Danielson and Pappas had been following Reinoehl, who eventually hid in a parking garage to let them pass, "reaching toward the pocket or pouch on his waistband."" snreyes (talk) 05:27, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Your new wording makes a claim (that Danielson was following Reinoehl) which isn't in either of the citations on this line. The Seattle Times source says video captured Reinoehl as he spotted Danielson and Chandler Pappas ... walking behind him, but we can't interpret walking behind someone as following them unless the sources make this claim (everyone in downtown is walking behind someone else).
On Wikipedia most claims need to be supported by reliable WP:SECONDARY sources, like the 2 existing newspaper articles. Primary sources, like the ProPublica video, are avoided because they can be interpreted multiple ways by different editors and there is no way to resolve these disputes (unless a secondary source makes the same interpretation, see WP:PRIMARY point 2). If you can find reliable secondary sources which interpret the video as Danielson following Reinoehl feel free to add it to the article, but given the existing sources we would need to cover both interpretations per WP:BALANCE.
