Request help with Dispute Resolution Noticeboard

Dear Snowycats, I made well-sourced edits to the Jesselyn Radack page, which were completely erased by one editor. Can you help me to understand how to send this to dispute resolution? The template isn't clear to me. Thanks.ScotWhaHai (talk) 03:08, 8 March 2019 (UTC)

Please participate to the talk pages consultation

Hello

Our team at the Wikimedia Foundation is working on a project to improve the ease-of-use and productivity of wiki talk pages. As a Teahouse host, I can imagine you’ve run into challenges explaining talk pages to first-time participants.

We want all contributors to be able to talk to each other on the wikis – to ask questions, to resolve differences, to organize projects and to make decisions. Communication is essential for the depth and quality of our content, and the health of our communities. We're currently leading a global consultation on how to improve talk pages, and we're looking for people that can report on their experiences using (or helping other people to use) wiki talk pages. We'd like to invite you to participate in the consultation, and invite new users to join too.

We thank you in advance for your participation and your help.

Wikiproject Apple Inc.

Hi there. Please come to IRC at #WikiProject-AppleInc. I'm there 24/7 as dtm, so I'll always read the scrollback. I have just recently published full rewrites of Taligent and Workplace OS with a lot more on the way, and a lot of long term upgrades to AIM alliance, PowerOpen, and A/UX. I just blundered through Apple Lisa. Maybe I forgot what else along the way. Also I'm hard core on Nintendo lol, so I had previously rewritten 64DD and most of Nintendo 64. So I'm your guy. IRC

Hi, I'm assuming your the founder 'DjAustin' of #WikiProject-AppleInc. Are you aware of Channel Setup Rules? I'll set ChanServ's guard to on if it will let me but I suggest you follow procedure. I'm RhinosF1 on IRC if you want to flag me with any rights. RhinosF1(chat)(status)(contribs) 07:28, 13 March 2019 (UTC)

Unsurprisingly it didn't let me add ChanServ RhinosF1(chat)(status)(contribs) 07:30, 13 March 2019 (UTC)
It's now been replaced with #wikipedia-en-appleinc RhinosF1(chat)(status)(contribs) 21:01, 13 March 2019 (UTC)

NPR Newsletter No.17

Hello Snowycats/Archives//2019,

News
Discussions of interest
  • Two elements of CSD G6 have been split into their own criteria: R4 for redirects in the "File:" namespace with the same name as a file or redirect at Wikimedia Commons (Discussion), and G14 for disambiguation pages which disambiguate zero pages, or have "(disambiguation)" in the title but disambiguate a single page (Discussion).
  • {{db-blankdraft}} was merged into G13 (Discussion)
  • A discussion recently closed with no consensus on whether to create a subject-specific notability guideline for theatrical plays.
  • There is an ongoing discussion on a proposal to create subject-specific notability guidelines for chemicals and organism taxa.
Reminders
  • NPR is not a binary keep / delete process. In many cases a redirect may be appropriate. The deletion policy and its associated guideline clearly emphasise that not all unsuitable articles must be deleted. Redirects are not contentious. See a classic example of the templates to use. More templates are listed at the R template index. Reviewers who are not aware, do please take this into consideration before PROD, CSD, and especially AfD because not even all admins are aware of such policies, and many NAC do not have a full knowledge of them.
NPP Tools Report
  • Superlinks – allows you to check an article's history, logs, talk page, NPP flowchart (on unpatrolled pages) and more without navigating away from the article itself.
  • copyvio-check – automatically checks the copyvio percentage of new pages in the background and displays this info with a link to the report in the 'info' panel of the Page curation toolbar.
  • The NPP flowchart now has clickable hyperlinks.

WikiProject Apple Inc.

Hello Snowycats,

You've been identified either as a previous member of the project, an active editor on Apple related pages, a bearer of Apple related userboxes, or just a hoopy frood.

WikiProject Apple Inc. has unexpectedly quit, because an error type "unknown" occured. Editors must restart it! If you are interested, read the project page and sign up as a member. There's something for everyone to do, such as welcoming, sourcing, writing, copy editing, gnoming, proofreading, or feedback — but no pressure. Do what you do, but let's coordinate and stay in touch.

See the full welcome message on the talk page, or join the new IRC channel on irc.freenode.net named #wikipedia-en-appleinc connect. Please join, speak, and idle, and someone will read and reply.

Please spread the word, and join or unsubscribe at the subscription page.

Article Assessment

With the completion of our project banner project, we have a large backlog of unassessed articles. Doing article rating is a great way to find interesting articles with-in our project's scope and to also find articles that were incorrectly tagged. This project will hopefully let us better monitor and aid in the development the many articles that this project supports. Thanks to Legoktm for all his work in making this happen.

Google Custom Search Engine

Looking for information on a book? Try out the new Children's literature custom search engine. This custom google search engine will look at designated sites for information. Included so far are Kirkus Reviews, School Library Journal, Horn Book, and Publisher's Weekly. If you have ideas for other sites which should be added start a discussion on our project talk page.

You are receiving this because you are listed as an active member of the Children's Literature WikiProject or have chosen to subscribe to the newsletter. If you would like to sign-up for just the newsletters or want to be an active member but not get the newsletters you can do that here.
