Hi. Sorry to come from nowhere like this, but could you please block User:87.127.166.231? Schaffhausen
Why is it "unconstructive" to mention that Schaffhausen is the birthplace of a very notorious war criminal? It is certainly not adding to the town's reputation, but it is a relevant fact about its history. Thousands of wikipedia articles about cities and towns include references to notable people who were born in the place, whether they were notable for good or for bad reasons. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.178.98.188 (talk) 21:09, 18 April 2010 (UTC) [1] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.178.98.188 (talk) 21:10, 18 April 2010 (UTC)

Hello. I saw you reverted an edit by 74.96.5.26 (not me, btw), who had made a sentence read "Babe's brother, Henry (Roy Scheider), better known as "Doc", poses as an oil company executive but in fact is a U.S. government agent working for an agency headed up by Director Peter Janeway (William Devane) with whom he's also having a sexual affair." This seems to me quite correct - certainly early on in the film we see Doc on the phone talking to 'Jane' and pleading that he's missing him; and there are several other clues that there's a physical relationship between the two men (I seem to remember that the book the film is based on is more explicit). Perhaps it's a 'spoiler' in that when you first see the film it's only later that you realise 'Jane' is in fact Peter Janeway; but I thought I'd let you know as it seems a 'good faith' edit rather than vandalism - so perhaps you'll want to remove that notice from 74.96.5.26's talk page. Balarus History
never ever was such nation as Belarus, this entity first was created by russian empire after the total occupation and annexion of Lithuania in 1795, before this whole Belarus and Smolensk were Lithuanian nation and spoke the same language as Lithuanians, however religious language was russian-bulgarian language, which become Belarus language after anexion of whole Lithuania, that is why Smolensk now is using russian language and whole Belarus religious language...those fairytales about slavs settled in this teritory in 600 AD is just outrageous nonsence without any prove...moreover Ruthenians were Ukrainians and not Belarussians, that is why after theanexion of Ukraine by poland Lithuanian kings ceased to call themselves Ruthenian kings and left only Lithuanian (including Smolensk) and Samogitian kings —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.178.250.85 (talk) 01:10, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
it's pity that people still refer to slavic fascistic propaganda history sources...while even after the first partition russians planned to russify only Mogilev and Gomel like they did with Smolensk and other states including Minsk!!!! they left to Lithuanians as pure Lithuanian state, but later they wanted more and for 60 years even in nowadays Lithuania Lithuanian language was banned!!!! and if not Prussians and smuglers of Lithuanian books from todays Kaliningrad (Karaliaucius) Lithuania would be speaking like today's Belarus —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.178.250.85 (talk) 01:16, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

Kenneth131's block
Hi.
This account certainly merits a block but for tactical reasons, I would prefer that we not block it. The spammer is persistent and will just move on to new accounts, which will make tracking his/her spam harder than if they continue using this account.
Ultimately, blacklisting his/her domains is a more effective approach (see my comments at User talk:Kenneth131)

Dear Snowolf, I am hoping you can help me please? I am looking for a writer to cover a couple of topics for me, for which I am willing to possibly pay. I wish to add a page about a person, not currently on Wikipedia, who started a business in the UK over 60 years ago, this of course will also mean creating a page on the current company and the group to which it belongs. I am looking for a nuetral writer for I understand that it needs to be written from a NPOV.
hoping you might be able to suggest someone who could assit me in this?

Snowolf: thank you for your review of this page. We are not power users of Wikipedia - maybe you can help.
Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear is a prominent Intellectual Property Law firm - they have been involved in protecting many biotech and information technology innovations. They told us that many law firms have their own Wikipedia page noting historical milestones and achievements. We checked and found that to be the case: Orrick Herrington, Latham & Watkins, O'Melveny, etc etc etc. We assumed that notable law firms were therefore accepted as being a valuable part of Wikipedia reference information. We thought we could author something similar for Knobbe - we have never done a Wikipedia page before, but we know a lot about law firms - - so we thought we could probably do a reasonable draft. We have not completed this - we also thought we were in a "development sandbox" and we would not be reviewed until the content was finished. I think it is unfortunate if this important firm is blocked from being listed because the name of our firm has the word "marketing" in it. We are not trying to advertise the firm - we just think they have made valuable contributions and earned a place.
Maybe you can advise us of why other firms were not blocked and this firm is - and what we can do to solve this. If this is merely an issue about our own firm name: Bothwell Marketing - we can certainly have another person/company submit a listing. In the meantime we really would like to have this listing "unblocked" so we can continue to work on it.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Hey there. I don't know if you're actually mentally retarded or just, I don't know, drunk, but would you stop reverting the Thomas Jones page when I delete massive chunks of random incoherent junk and completely failed HTML coding? I don't know if you think unintelligible gibberish looks 'cool', or something, but it's a bit annoying when mongoloids keep putting it back up on a page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.22.51.202 (talk • contribs) 21:25, 26 April 2010
Ficus monckii
You just reverted my edit to Ficus monckii (a species of fig tree). (I'm quite used to this, by the way.) What I am trying to do, in a lot of articles for species of Ficus, is to sort the alphabetization on the page for Category:Ficus. Right now, the species are following three different alphabets.
On Category pages for a genus, the usual practice--and the best way--is to sort them by the species name, the second part of the binomial (scientific) name. That is because almost all the entries themselves begin with the genus name, so if you just alphabetize them straight, the page is one VERY big letter. It is also important, then, to spell that species name with a lower case initial letter (as is the scientific convention, anyway). This is because on these lists you get, first, an alphabet by capital letters, then an alphabet by small.
The best genus Category pages are done by this system. And several people, including a few who had reverted me, have thanked me for my good work. 71.126.140.136 (talk) 21:59, 26 April 2010 (UTC)Stephen Kosciesza
You wrote: I see, is really {DEFAULTSORT:Fi|cus monckii} the proper format? I was puzzled by the |. In any case free free to revert me. Happy editing, Snowolf How can I help? 22:04, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
Is that how I did it? If so, I got it wrong (although I thought I was checking for mistakes like that). For most categories, the ideal would be {DEFAULTSORT:Ficus monckii} taking special note to spell monckii with a lower case m. (That's because on the lists, Wikipedia will do Ficus A, Ficus B, Ficus C, etc., THEN Ficus a, Ficus b, Ficus c.)
For the Category Ficus, where almost all the items on the list begin with Ficus, I would put [[Category:Ficus|moncki]]. Then the list begins with an alphabet of capital letters for those few articles that are not specific species--and there follows a lower case alphabet for the list of species. 71.126.140.136 (talk) 22:11, 26 April 2010 (UTC)Stephen Kosciesza
- Glad we've got it clear, because the explanation I just wrote you DID NOT come out they way I wanted. 71.126.140.136 (talk) 22:14, 26 April 2010 (UTC)Stephen Kosciesza

Jejemon
Hi snowolf,
I recently checked that the entry for Jejemon has been deleted. I know the wikipedia tried to educate the internet-dependent generation through its fast and accurate retrival of facts. I am somehow saddened that the Jejemon entry was deleted. If I am not mistaken, it was cited that it was gibberish or anything going to that direction. However, as part of the pop culture in the texting capital of the world, I believe the entry has every potential to be included in wikipedia. The entry does not discriminate anything from anyone. It tries to educate people of things that somehow bothers a huge fraction of the society. If LOL has its wiki page, I can't think of any reason jejemon shouldn't be having any.
Fotolocco (talk) 20:36, 28 April 2010 (UTC)fotolocco...
- I tend to concur with Fotolocco, although yes I also understand that a jejemon article could quite easily degenerate into gibberish and into an attack page. If it's not up again by tomorrow and I have time, I'll try to come up with a wiki-worthy article for it, since I already have verifiable sources from Philippine and Southeast Asian print and television media outlets. That is, of course, pending any objections you might have about the matter. - Alternativity (talk) 04:07, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
